Bill O'Reilly: "FreeRepublic Needs A Full Time Monitor. It Has None."
Fox News/Bill O'Reilly Show

Edited on 08/03/2007 4:16:59 PM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)

"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""

Mr. O’ Rielly can be the first donor on the next Freep and if so kind end it in one donation.

Heck maybe Jim will appoint him to be a volenteer Mod. then we will never have a troll or off the wall post again!

NOT.

Another option: invite them to be a Freeper.

Already have done that to a couple of people.

Yes...O’reilly stands up for what he believes and basically he has good values. Sure, he gets carried away on somethings, but if he were my son, I would be proud of him.

As opposed to those MSNBC mouthers...O’reilly is a saint. (Matthews, Oberman, etc.)

Your first point is spot on. BOR has truly become a moron.

O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None."

O'Reilly needs a brain. He has none.

Whether BOR’s slander calling FR a “hate site” makes it official or not, it probably does.

Yeah, he just threw a bunch of grenades based on false information, misinformed a lot of people and then ran away.

I still haven't seen an apology for the 'blacks' comment.

That's the thing about BOR, several times he has attempted so hard to give himself a "fair and balanced" moniker, that he doesn't seem to care if he gets it right or not.

BOR needs to put in just one quick call to Tony Snow and the President's own Press Secretary should confirm that FR does indeed have monitors.

MEMO

To: Mr. O’Reilly, Staff, Handlers, Sympathetic Observers
From: The Conservative Base
Subject: Alienation

Whenever one finds oneself in a hole, there is a temptation to continue digging.

I suggest you stop.

Alienation of base support, whether it be of a political or media figure, is patently unwise.

I offer a recent example.

President Bush and the GOP in 2006 were determined to ignore the concerns of their base constituency, resulting in an electoral disaster. That this betrayal from so-called conservative politicians was the reward for countless and tireless efforts of their volunteer supporters was despicable.

More curiously though, with whom was President Bush et. al. attempting to curry favor?

The Liberal Left despise and demonize Bush, irrespective of his policies. His attempted outreach is just seen as weakness. Compromises, via ill-advised domestic programs, earn him even more derision from his sworn Socialist enemy.

Mr. O’Reilly, whatever base or core audience you have is not, and will never be, on the Left side of the political spectrum. They mock you with the same anger and fervor that they reserve for Bush. Your name is spoken on news and talk shows as a synonym for ‘idiot’. Hollywood and the media are not your friends.

When you alienate the intelligent and patriotic Conservative Right with reckless and foolhardy comparisons of Daily Kos to Free Republic, you follow Bush’s failed experiment.

Stop digging, Mr. O’Reilly.

Put aside your grandiosity and inflated ego for this critical time in your life, and instead, think.

You would be wise to apologize to Free Republic, and vow instead to harness the unsurpassed talent, wit, intelligence, research and power of the largest collection of freedom fighters the world has ever known.

Your very future depends on it.

O’Reilly is all wrong on this issue and had a hissy fit. Too bad - he often tackles issues that the rest of the media should cover but avoid.

Signed up in April, I see. H-m-m.

I have seen this mentioned a couple of times.

Why is this significant?

What is the implication?

“Oh and He slandered the swift boaters.”

That was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me with BOR. I think he equated the SBVT with the likes of moveon.org and called them “swiftboat people” instead of “Veterans”. IMHO, BOR has earned any and all the disrespect being heaped upon him.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

If the Democrats regain the White House and keep control of both houses of Congress BOR will get his wish and I don't think we're going to be liking the results.

The Democrats have clearly show themselves to be very poos sports when it comes to people questioning their actions. They consider any all vocal and oral criticisms of them, their party and their actions to be hate speech.

They would pretty much like to see all 80,000 or so of us freepers in either a jail cell or mental institution.

The Democrats and RINO's do not have our nation's best interests in their hearts. Their interest in regaining power and misusing and abusing it to suit their own desires for sex, money and power.

The Democrat party and the RINO's are both criminal enterprises that need to be put out of business. it's as simple as that.

Regards...........
