Hillary Clinton remained calm and collected in public during her husband’s sex scandal...

...but she pounded the snot out of *Squirt with ashtrays. Didn't *Bubba get punished so badly, *he had to say *he ran into a door frame?

They don’t sound very Christian at all. As for Hillary, her “faith” is as phony as her southern accent. She doesn’t believe in any higher power other than herself.

Everytime I hear the word “progressive” used in the context of liberals it makes me want to spit. What is progressive about higher taxes, abortion, gun control and cheerleading for homosexuals?

It will be difficult for Hillary to convince anyone that she is a true Christian. It’s not in her and it’s not in her heart. If it was, she would be talking about our founders and their faith and how important it is to the survival of this country.

Sometimes I can only incredulous at the misuse of language. That forked tongue angel is artful to say the least.

Every time I see the bumper sticker “I’m a Christian and a Democrat” I want to ask the driver - Yes, but which one are you good at?

What a disappointing article.
When I first read the title I thought we were going hear from the mythical fiscally liberal, but socially conservative Christians. In theory these folks can exist -- but since they often end up exalting Government as their new god, I've treated them as theoretical possibilities but not as actual real people. Socially 'liberal' Christians are an oxymoron -- but I think that's the people we're talking about in this article as 'progressive alleged christians'...
When I read the following quotes - I realized these weren't the rare (and perhaps mythical) fiscally liberal socially conservative Christians that I was hunting:

Garrison said her progressive evangelical and secular friends are “very disgusted” with Clinton, feeling she is too moderate and has compromised too much with conservatives. And when it comes to faith, Garrison added, her friends tend to admire second-place candidate Barack Obama (D-Ill.) instead.

“I think now is the time for her to be genuine and sincere about it,” she said. “Barack Obama -- his faith strikes you as being genuine. That’s what he is.”

er...If the 'I never met an abortion I didn't like' Barack Obama are these 'progressives' 'standard' of someone of 'faith' -- these folks are in for some sad surprises come Judgment Day. God will not be mocked. You cannot embrace abortion with the near glee that Mr. Obama has done and deserve any respect as a 'man of faith'. Also haven't these folks read the website of the 'church' which Mr. Obama is a member (tucc.org - I believe)? Its an anathema to God's Word. A separatist 'club' that exults blackness and Africa over Jesus and fellow Christians (regardless of their color)...So the net of this article is that they are lukewarm to Mrs. Bill Clinton because she isn't as overtly anti-God as is Mr. Obama.

Yes, I guess I'm now up to speed regarding the definition of a 'progressive christian'...(a.k.a. 'Non-Christian').

"we've actually lost our definition of what "progressive" really means. Even I, who would definitely call myself a progressive - a proud liberal even - have a hard time defining what all of that actually means"

Even Liberals hold discussions on what Progressive means!!

...for which critics accused her of affecting a Southern drawl.

This is not just an accusation. It is well documented on videotape.

I think it would be more entertaining to see her act hip-hop to pander to a young, black audience, perhaps in blackface. She's a leftist, she can get away with it.

An apostate means somebody who is not Christian anmy more or at least not a good Christian, right?

Do you really think you can go to hell for having liberal politics?

I was conned and robbed of my business by a progressive Baptist -— which is a thief who counts on God’s mercy and blessings because he knows how to say the Savior’s name. The next time I’ll do business with an honest atheist.

Apostate n. One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause.

Do you really think you can go to hell for having liberal politics?

Only if you weren't saved in the first place.

"An apostate means somebody who is not Christian anmy more or at least not a good Christian, right?"

No. An apostate is believing or preaching a perverted Christian doctrine which is not biblical. The gnostics were an example. Teaching or believing that homosexual sex is OK for a Christian, or that there are other ways to salvation than believing in Christ are two current examples of apostacy being taught in "progressive" churches. (There is no such thing as a "progressive" Christian.)
