“The letter in question is an Oct. 2 two-pager from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to Clear Channel Communications CEO Mark Mays lambasting the syndicate's Rush Limbaugh, who had recently criticized U.S. troops who were against the war in Iraq.

Neely Tucker is a liar...

As I listened to Harry Reid try to take credit for this letter yesterday, I was struck at how these people really are in an altered universe, and so devoid of reality.

It continues with the MSM. I really think above all else they will do themselves in.

I really believe this will start the ball unraveling to clinton's quest of the presidency.

God bless Rush Limbaugh. FINALLY someone get’s it. You don’t ignore these people, you don’t try to appease these people, you don’t apologize to these people, you fight them. They are every bit as sheep-like and gutless as our RINOS

......once again the MSM “spins” the truth.
Anyone who has followed this story from the beginning watches in amazement how stupid they (MSM) sound. Even today the story evolves to where Reid is taking credit for raising money

Neely Tucker needs some emails. I've been trying, but the WaPo email is timing out. Maybe the mailbox is full, ha-ha! ...who had recently criticized U.S. troops who were against the war in Iraq.

Who is grandstanding here? She (?) knows darn well that the term 'phony soldiers' refers to people who either never served and are against the war or who exaggerated their service and are against the war. If you have to lie about your service, you are a phony.

She has a story to tell and she’s gonna tell it, no matter what the truth is.

Schooled in the Big Lie technique, she spins this event her own way, and damn the facts.

These people are a disgrace to the honorable profession of journalism.

If I was her editor, she’d be fired.

Hairy Reed wouldn’t know the truth if it was flaccidly slapped across his face.

This is a perfect example of why the MSM, WaPo, NYTs, etc, are going down. The “reporter” notes nothing of the actual controversy. What did Limbaugh actually say? What was the context? Who is Jesse McBeth? What was Reid trying to imply?

All she does is report Reid’s lie as though it were the truth and go on from there. As though these nutty Republicans are spending money to save Rush.

This entire story in the way it’s reported is a lie.

Today’s AJC had a surprisingly good article about the letter by AP reporter Brian Skoloff.

No quotes by Reid and all the facts reported correctly.

The article’s last paragraph: “Limbaugh was responding to a caller several weeks ago when he used the phrase “phony soldiers.” He has said he was only referring to one speific soldier who has spoken out against the war while claiming to have seen combat. That soldier was kicked out of the Army in 2003 and sentenced to prison last month for collecting benefits he was not entitled to.”

Neely Tucker is an ad copy writer for the DNC - Not a journalist of any stripe.

Petty bickering about patriotism and Who Loves Our Troops More has never been seen as a financial growth industry, but there's no stopping American capitalism.

This is what Ried's letter boils down to for this schmuck? It's just petty bickering about patriotism and who loves our troops more?

No, this was about slandering a public figure and trying to destroy his career. We have a U.S. Constitituion to prevent this type of stuff Mr. Tucker. The 41 signators of this document should be booted out of office for a violation of the oaths they took upon being sworn into that office.

41 Senators should be on a plane back home as I type, but we do not have an effective government these days. Mexico City comes closer to governing this nation than the old seat of power does.

Everyone knows the meaning of the word "phony." Rush knows that they do.

Rush is not obliged to define each word he uses.

became worth a reported $4.2 million yesterday

No mention that the letter went for $2.1 million and Rush matched the sale price out of his own pocket. Jeez, these folks never cease to amaze me how they twist the facts......

Given the media black out on this story I would suggest that rush present the letter to the winner in front of the CNN building, or CBS’s, or something like that. Stick it right down their throats.

Can somebody get that idea to Rush?
