“Cops cannot stop a crime from happening they can only document what happened after the fact.”

Unless a Dunkin Donuts is being robbed.

"One of the young male adults hurt his hand during the scuffle with Landingham, an injury photographed by police."

Yeah, he hurt his hand all over that pig's head!

Isn't 'being judgmental' the real crime, according to some?

“Okada, the spokesman for the Salem police, warned against civilians simply taking justice into their own hands. “You don’t know whether a suspect is armed or what their mind frame is,” he said.”

Good grief. I hope this little spin/twist was the reporter and not the Salem PD spokesman.

I congratulate these kids for doing what was right, without selfish concern, and saving that woman.

Too bad he fell on his face a few times. (NOT)

If you are outside a city limit, maybe 15 - 20 minutes.

Okada, the spokesman for the Salem police, warned against civilians simply taking justice into their own hands.

This crime occurred less than a half mile from my home. Due to the previous Salem Mayor, this town has one of the lowest police to citizen ratios. Due to the state prison being located here, Salem has one of the highest percentages of sex criminals west of the Mississippi.

I long ago ceased caring at all what law enforcement has to say about self-defense, guns, etc. Especially here where I live> The local sherrifs office is the most worthless, Barney Fifish organization I have ever seen. But they do have nice new big bucks office.

Don’t get me wrong...I have a lot of respect for cops, some are my good friends. But, I’m talking about REAL cops, not the politicians that make the public statements after a crime.

When the Minnesota Citizens Personal Protection Act of 2003 was passed, the Chiefs of Police and the County Sheriffs came out against it. The politicians that stand for election. The REAL cops, the line officers, were all for trained, law-abiding citizens possibly helping to keep the lid on in breaking situations.

the cop said..

“it very potentially saved the victim from further injury,” he said, “or death.”

what kind of crap is that?

“...very potentially saved the victim from further injury...”
so if the kids didn’t do what they did then the perp might have just gone away?

From the picture of the the rapist later in the thread, some people may joke about one of the Fab Five hurting his hand on the rapist, but given what looks like a very big rapist, it was probably very well justified.

Five average guys against a 400 pounder might mean they get hurt trying to subdue such a heavy person.

And the woman, if so was only 120 pounds, she certainly was in danger of being badly injured by the rapist...

The only way the LIBS have talk their way that the rapist was unnessarily hurt is to show him as a guy under 250 pounds, which I doubt he was. He looks like a 300 to 400 pounder for sure...

Of course the dumbass cop warned people against “taking justice into their own hands”.

That's pretty much the party line everywhere. You can bet your ass the cops weren't going to investigate why the Bill Clinton wannabe was pummeled. He may have even "resisted" a little.

i think the cop is saying the kids didn’t, in fact or actually , save the woman

they only “very potentially” saved the woman.

give them the credit they deserve. they saved the woman!
God Bless Them.
