A Hard Loss for Romney (He's all but doomed now)

A Hard Loss for Romney By John Ellis

It's one thing to lose as you are. What you lose is an election, but there's always another election and in the case of presidential primary politics, a new electorate that awaits you in the next state. It's another thing to lose as you aren't. Mitt Romney was never the 700 Club right-winger his campaign managers conceived. He was and is a man of business and a very capable one at that.

He's all but doomed now. Senator John McCain will beat him in New Hampshire, probably by a lot, and Romney's media coverage will evaporate and his candidacy will consequently die. On January 9, his managers will walk in and say that the campaign needs $10 million or $15 million to continue and that he, Romney, will have to write the check. Everyone who would contribute has maxed out. Everyone who might won't. Two-time losers don't get new money. It's a basic rule of politics.

And if the Mormons get the idea they are pushed out because of their religion, you’re not going to have their help with whomever you want to put in.

Please see post #53.

Best take on last night’s results that I’ve seen. Funny as hell, too.

No, I meant that as more of a statement. Fred has plainly stated that he isn't contesting New Hampshire. He's going to NH for the debates, then off to South Carolina.

I'm surprised Howie didn't know that.

Amusing, especially the punch line...he thinks McCain is the eventual nominee.

Right.

If not Romney then who? I like Duncan Hunter a lot but he’s going nowhere. He has no money and hasn’t run a good campaign. If we nominate a buffoon like John McCain or Mike Huckabee then we are sure to lose to the Democrats. Is that what you want SoCalPol? Do you want another Clinton or worse Obama in the White House? We can’t afford that. No matter how bad you think Romney is, he is far superior to any of the 3 possible Democrats. SoCalPol, it’s people like you who get Democrats elected!

You said — “And if the Mormons get the idea they are pushed out because of their religion, you’re not going to have their help with whomever you want to put in.”

Well, do you think by now that they’ve finally got the idea that Evangelical Christians are not about to vote for a cult member for President of the United States? I hope so, because it will always be that way.

The problem that some of the Mormons have, is that they may be believing their own propaganda, when they try to tell other basic, historic and foundational Christians that *they* (i.e., the Mormons) are actually “Christians” themselves — and then in the next breath, explain how the Christians lost the “true Gospel” and how Joseph Smith has restored that lost Gospel.

Oh yeah, like that’s going to fly over ya, like a lead balloon.

I mean if the Mormons are believing their own propaganda that they are actually a church that teaches basic, historic and foundational Christianity — then they are really big fools. Of course they know that their church does not teach that same stuff. They know that very well. They’re just hoping other basic, historic, foundational Christians don’t know that.

What do they expect, when they try to tell such a false story that they actually teach the same kind of doctrines as the other basic, historic and foundational Christian churches do. Of course the Evangelicals are not going to let a group that lies like that — have one of their members become President. I mean, if they cannot even tell the truth about their own church, what do they expect we’re going to think of a Mormon candidate. Come on now..., do they think Evangelicals are that dumb??!

Star Traveler

LOL...

A Hard Loss for Romney (He's all but doomed now)

All the king's horses and all the king's men...aw heck, $80 Million couldn't convince the people after seeing his socialist policies in MA to vote for him.

Mitt, there's no ROI here. Please go home and enjoy your wonderful family. You can serve penance by reflecting on the evil you have perpetrated on MA folks with your socialist healthcare failure.

If I'm willing to run a man (or stalinist wench) out of town for implementing this tyranny as policy, I'm sure as heck not going to support him for President.

Take a hike, Mitt!

Uninsured Mass. residents face monthly fines starting in January (MittCare)

'Compact' on health expected from Patrick (Failings of Romney-care as quality crumbles)

Firms find ways around state health law (Romney-care reeks havoc on local business)

Health coverage rates will rise again (Romney-care drives higher demand and raises prices)

***The way to do that with Huck is to find a way to question his Baptist credentials provoking him to attacking Romney’s Mormon ism.***

I wouldn’t vote for a Baptist from Massachusetts either!

Well, you don’t know that the GOP can’t bring any candidate into the Presidency without the Evangelicals — and the Evangelicals are not going to elect a cult member for President.

Game over...

You and you minion can call another faith cult all you want but when it boils down to is your opinions really have no authority!

Also Evangelicals are not the only Christians on the planet there are other faiths Protestants and Catholic etc!

What is dumb is what you just wrote. You believe your own propaganda so much you don’t allow someone else to have different opinion. No big tent for you. “You either believe like we do or you’re out.” Mormons don’t claim they teach the same thing. They just have a different opinion about about what is correct Christian doctrine. Mormons have been voting for candidates who had different theological opinions for generation. Now they may learn they don’t get to play by those same rules. Mormons of the nineteenth century voted almost 100% Democrat. Don’t kid yourself that it can’t go back. When Mormons decide their future is in another direction, they move in mass. They have done it before and they can do it again. If you don’t think that could make a difference, read the article again.

You said — “Also Evangelicals are not the only Christians on the planet there are other faiths Protestants and Catholic etc!”

Yeah, but the Catholics are not listed as a *cult group* in the “Kingdom of the Cults” — http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Cults-Walter-Martin/dp/0764228218/

You’ll note that this book is backed up and is edited by Ravi Zacharias, the same guy that the Mormons invited to speak at the Mormon Tabernacle (the same guy a lot of Mormons praised, as I read in the newspaper articles).

This is the standard and authoritative book for Christians to tell which groups are cult groups and not teaching basic, historic and foundational Christian doctrines. And as I said, the Catholics are not listed as a cult group — but — the Mormons *definitely* are listed as a cult group.

The Mormon teachings and doctrines are totally unrecognizable to Christians and do not represent Christian teaching and doctrine. I mean, even the Mormons know that. LOL... (they just won’t tell anyone else that they know that, therefore gaining the reputation of “lying through their teeth”).

You know, all the Mormons have to do is simply stop lying about their faith being like the Christian teachings and doctrines. You know they aren’t — we know they aren’t — you’re just hoping the gullible and stupid don’t know it....

Star Traveler

“I’ve heard it suggested — Thompson-Hunter ticket. Whadda you think?”

Too many bong hits in Freeperville tonight, is what I think.

The race is down to McCain, Huckabee, and Romney.

Choose your poison.
