Excellent use of the money :)
Anything or anybody not percieved as perfect is not capable of being self supportive or self rightous.
Thats why the spelling nannys put emphasis on grammar rather than subject matter. Flawed behavior cannot be a voice of reason.
You're right! I took a solemn oath to protect and defend that document when I entered the United States Army many years ago, and then I had to go half way around the world and do it. A lot of men did it with me and some of their names are on a Wall in Washington D.C., as are the names of other men from other wars in countless cities and towns across this great nation. We fought, not for the printed word on that document, but for the ideals that it represents. Freedom, that's what we fought for, and that's what these idiots can't understand. It's not a printed word, it's a way of life, and it's the most priceless commodity on the face of this earth, and it's worth my life and the lives of all free men everywhere.
People that say such things are clueless and should be made to live under communist regimes, and never see the light of liberty again. Do not disparage the sacrifice of my brothers in front of me, I will defend them, and you will have hospital bills.
If illegal drugs became legal, we would have a whole new host of problems to deal with. Do not believe that legalization would simplistically solve our problems with drugs.
I agree. I am the worlds worst speller. I was just answering the question, not the one complaining about the spelling.
Thanks for the post. Though it would seem there still exist many who are still not persuaded, this poster does not now, nor did I ever require, convincing that the premise of this article was in fact true.
It’s not a problem.
Any articles that you think might be of interest to homeschoolers that are not another reason to homeschool, but are homeschool specific, can be pinged to Dave.
I don’t doubt that there’s a lot of overlap in our lists, but his is to deal with homeschool specific articles more than mine is. The *Another Reason* list was kind of an unexpected outgrowth of his list. We’d find those kinds of threads and someone would quip that here’s yet ANOTHER reason to homeschool and someone got the idea of starting a separate list.
Anyway, Dave, here’s one for your list.
Thanks, I was drawing a blank on who kept that particular list!
He’s the first name in the *Another Reason* list, if that helps.

I hope you realize I didn't say that about the Constitution
After all, I also gave 8 years of my life (including 18 months in Nam) to help protect and preserve.....
It is always those for whom they have not had to the price for anything, who are quick to forget about the sanctity and majesty of this foundation document and feel they can usurp any of its tenets at will, to suit their purpose or impose their beliefs on others.
Bravo!!
Though somewhat intelligent, adequately educated, and one blessed with considerable life experience (a Seasoned Citizen, after all) I would be lost with Spell Check.
So what does that make me?
HUMAN!!!
“Educated Idiot”
That’s what my father called them , and he was right!!!!
Thanks for the ping!
Yep. In the military it is called mission creep. I suppose this phenomena can be labeled nanny-creep What never ceases to amaze me is how folks can understand and apply the issue to smokers or kids selling candy but they dont get it when it is applying to the 2nd Amendment
Apparently everyone has forgotten that it is only recently (relatively speaking) that this infringement FOR LIFE of a citizens 2nd Amendment rights has existed. This is for what is rapidly becoming a laundry list of new crimes some of which are only misdemeanors. Just since the 60s 70s has the nanny-state government decided that if anything ever occurs they can gleefully deny a Citizens 2 Amendment rights. And just as in the example of the ban on smokers rights we shall also see a ban on gun owners rights.
When smokers rights were first violated it was common sense. Any one remember what the ban was? Airplanes and elevators. Just common sense, right? Now we have totally lunacy on the issue, banning smoking in totally outdoor areas, attempts at banning smoking in ones own home, city-wide bans, etc.
We are now starting to see attempts at violating a citizens Second Amendment rights for mental reasons. And just who is to be doing the deciding? Well the government of course! It is just common sense. And what kind of issues? Well that would be unstable and suicidal, right?
Guess what smoking is in light of modern scientific data? Why, that is a huge health risk and everybody knows it. So, if you smoke (or eat unhealthy food) you are deliberate harming yourself and that is an indication of suicidal behavior. By-by Second Amendment rights and it will all be legal
But you will be disarmed just as if you had been caught robbing banks.
Awesome analysis, and very scary.
What is scary to me is how the federal government has sold this pig of a lifetime ban of a Citizens rights because of a legal issue. Did that person loose their First amendment rights because of an arrest? Or even a conviction? Did they loose their citizenship? NO!
So what gives with this fetish to take away a Citizens Second Amendment rights?
Easy. Once that is gone their is no way to prevent the government to "decide" that you don't really need any of the others as well. As long as ALL Citizens are free to FULLY arm themselves we shall retain our rights. If American Citizens do not have the firepower to back up a resounding NO to the federal government then we Citizens have become a paper tiger.
But it always starts with "common sense regulations."
Most of which make NO common sense, primarily because those that propose them have no common sense to begin with.
You won't get an argument from me that without our 2nd Amendment Rights the rest of them will disappear as well.
Actually, the first couple of times I made the argument regarding a Citizens rights and the issues of the government denying them I caught a lot of flack here. But much to the forum's credit (FReepers) they quickly saw the light and came right off what I refer to as the "hang-em-high" attitude in regards to a Citizen, their rights and the federal government cherry-picking which ones they want to "allow" us to have.
They are our rights and the federal government has absolutely no business denying any of them to a citizen that is walking the streets of this nation. Sometimes I get a little "preachy" but apparently it is working.
This self righteous SOB signed the law to ban smoking in the state of New York. He even talked about smokers as if they are the scum of the earth.
This two faced SOB talks out of both sides of his filthy mouth!
