Forgive me for thinking that of you. However, my comments stand to the other Conservatives who remain pro-drug-war, who nevertheless look around themselves with bafflement as more and more behavior choices are criminalized out from under them.

She didn’t confront me directly, she did it through my manager and I didn’t get along with him anyway. I basically told him I will park it in any legitimate parking spot I wanted to. I was there for maybe another month before I left for a different position.

They can have my real maple syrup when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Fortunately, I know plenty of local producers of the stuff who would sell it black market.

apparently intellectualism is so overextended that it had one of its L’s repossesed.

And along with it went your capital letter to begin your sentence.

Blackgards. Knaves. Letter-Burglars. For shame!

License to write like a child, maybe.

A poetic child who does not know capitalization rules
and does not mind if the forum appears to be populated by teenagers.

Sweet!

yes, i do this because I don't understand capitalization rules.

BETTER CALL THE CAPITALIZATION POLICE, BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO.

He really is soooooooo sleazy isn't he! Like far too many of those who hold office in this once great nation!

He's another little Hitler pounding his fist on the table yelling "DO AS I TELL YOU NOT AS I DO!"  Another power hungry nut that got elected into office.

He's the lowest of the low!

Oh yes. And equally scary is the very thought that there are people voting for these power hungry, control freaks. The socialist school systems have done a great job of NOT teaching students about our country, their freedom, or anything else about the Constitution. A few generations of that, and we now have a whole new crop of voters who can replace the old liberals. Nice job!

I truly don't believe a lot of them are legitimately elected however. I don't know about NY, but assume it is much like MA. The mobs have such a hold on politics in this state is astounding.

When they came for the drinkers during Prohibition, I did not speak out, as I was not a drinker.

When they came for the employees of the oldest profession in the world, I did not speak out, as I had no interest in purchasing sex.

When they came for the purveyors of what was deemed to be "obscene" or "offensive", I did not speak out, as I was not a fan of entertainers like Lenny Bruce or Howard Stern.

When they came to ban the female mammary gland from TV, I did not speak out, because Brian Boitano told me not to.

When they came for the marijuana smokers, I did not speak out, as I was not a marijuana smoker.

When they came for the steroid users, I did not speak out, as I was not a steroid user.

When they came for the _______ (insert nominally objectionable behavior here), I did not speak out as I was not a _________ (fill in the blank).

When they came for the pornographers, I did not speak out, as I was not a pornographer.

When they came for the people who don't wear seatbelts, I did not speak out, as I always wore my seatbelt.

When they came for the gun owners, I did not speak out, as I was not a gun owner.

When they came for the gamblers, I did not speak out, as I was not a gambler.

When they came for the "polluters", I did not speak out because I was not a polluter.

When they came for the SUV drivers, I did not speak out, because I did not drive an SUV.

When they came for the cigarette smokers, I did not speak out, as I was not a smoker.

When they came for the overweight and the obese, I did not speak out, as I was not overweight or obese.

When they came for the drinkers (again), I did not speak out, as I was not a drinker.

Then they came for me...and there was nobody left to speak out.

All of the blood spilled by American patriots resisting tyranny. Only to return to it submissively hundreds of years later. Sad. Sue me for taking up an entire page with a post.

Yea, but I saw one of those avid atheists, the guy who wrote “The End of Religion” and I realized I couldn’t stand to live a life in a world without God so I returned to my church and turned in my Bar card and quit practicing. (but I still can’t spell). Frankly I don’t think God really cares if I can spell or not.

Gabz,

Thanks for the ping. I found the text below especially interesting, considering what we have been telling the nanny staters all along.

From the article:
“Here is the real kicker from Judge H. Walter Croskey, writing the unanimous opinion:

The parents in the instant case have asserted in a declaration that it is because of their “sincerely held religious beliefs” that they home school their children and those religious beliefs “are based on Biblical teachings and principles” . . . [T]hose assertions are not the quality of evidence that permits us to say that application of California’s compulsory public school education law to them violates their First Amendment rights. Their statements are conclusional, not factually specific. Moreover, such sparse representations are too easily asserted by any parent who wishes to home school his or her child.”
****************************
Yep, the Righteous Right that has been so supportive of the destruction of private property rights and individual liberty have been celebrating the very tools that will be used to bash their freedom and liberty.

Damn the constitution!

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers.”
