Barack Obama is preparing to deliver a major address Tuesday on race, politics and unifying the country after being hounded by questions about his relationship to a pastor whose sermons have been laced with anti-American invective.
In a speech whose religious significance could compare to one given in December by former GOP presidential hopeful and Mormon Mitt Romney, Obama may be forced to explain the philosophy of the 8,000-strong Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where the Democratic presidential candidate has been a congregant for 20 years.
In announcing the morning address, to be delivered in Philadelphia, Obama would not say specifically what he will discuss, but suggested he wants to cool down the atmosphere after incendiary remarks by his pastor, retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., blanketed the airwaves over the past week.

If Obamie can come through this and get the nomination, he can easily win the election. It will prove he is made of teflon and can survive anything.
I don't like Hillary, but the thought of Obamie in the oval office actually scares me.
You know, its a little too little and a little too late—everyone knows Obama can make a speech, but that is ALL it was, he stuck up for Wright, and everything he says now is just to cover his own butt and save his campaign—he knows he needs us WHITEYS to win this. Most of us know that but there will be the libs that will use this speech to hang their hats on, and say “move on-he explained”. Sorry, his explanations are a joke. Too much not in his favor when you look at all of it—the 20 year relationship, the marriage, baptism, the fact that Obama won’t put his hand over his heart, won’t wear an American flag pin, the comments of his big mouth wife so similar to Wright’s preaching, his book, and the fact that he won’t leave the church that seems to hate America and white people. In my opinion, case closed, he is done.

I realize your Clinton Parse-O-Meter has been stored away since 2000, but he did not contradict himself. Last Friday he said that he had not heard the statements at the center of the current controversy, which were the specific statements on YouTube and the TV. Today he admitted hearing other outrageous statements, but not those specific statements.
He was deceptive on Friday, as anybody with a functional Parse-O-Meter could tell at first blush, but he did not contradict himself today.

The example had nothing to do with the crux of his speech. After blaming the white community, it was a pandering olive leaf.

That’s essentially what he said.
