There's one good reason Gwen Ifill, the host of the PBS show Washington Week, is moderating the vice-presidential debate: she has a forthcoming book about Barack Obama (and other black Democrats) called The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.
Ifill presents Obama and the others as the idealistic successors of Martin Luther King: "This book is about a generation of people who took seriously the achievements that their parents fought for. They knew that Martin Luther King did what he did so they can do what theyre doing, and they decided to follow through."

This debate is in St. Louis, MO, where Obama has had his truth squad the past week trying to suppress free speech, by threatening and intimidating radio, tv stations and other media with lawsuits if they air negative ads about him...
I suppose it wouldn't be prudent to describe Obama's truth squad members as "brown shirts"...
Thanks for all those conservative links.
Any use contacting the MSM?
I take it this is a joke. Did Ms Ifill also write a book she hoped would be a bestseller about Cheney or Edwards? The woman has a financial interest in Obama’s success. Were she at all ethical, she would recuse herself. I guess you also thought Franz Liebkind was an objective observer of Der Fuhrer’s machinations.
“That’s so racist!”
GREAT! Thanks for that link.
Emailing now... .
Maybe this will help those who want to protest the setup.

If I were John McCain/Sarah Palin I would send a note just as the debate were to start telling them to forget it...if you cannot get actual “moderators” than all the debates are off. We’ll go on meeting people on a state-to-state basis.
There’s no way we’re ever going to get fairness, why feed the monster by doing what they want?
First On TVNewser: PBS’ Gwen Ifill has broken her ankle after tripping and falling down stairs at her home last night, a NewsHour insider tells TVNewser. We’re told Ifill had been walking up a staircase, carrying research related to her moderating duties at Thursday’s Vice Presidential debate in St. Louis, when she took a wrong step.
We are also told the show will go on: Ifill is planning to travel to Missouri for the big event.
Doing the news the vast cabal of MSM editors won't do!
I wrote my letter to the Debate email manager on this forum but BCC’d my email to everyone I know, and all athe addresses at FoxNews protesting GWEN IFILL as the moderater as a CONFLICT OF INTEREST, and stating PBS must replace her with eith Jim Leher, who did Presidential Debate, or someon NEUTRAL. That Gwen Ifill’s criticizm of Sarah Palin from the RNC Speech was evidence she could not be fair.
Email sent. Many thanks.

Don’t replace her—just add someone from our side. Not BOR—he would try too hard to be easy on Biden to show how fair he was. Hugh Hewitt?
No—El Rushbo!

Just this fact alone should lead the Republican Party (read: the stupid party) to INSTANTLY PULL OUT OF THE DEBATE AND TO SCREAM BLOODY MURDER!!!!!!!
When are we going to have Roger Mudd, Hannity, Malkin, Coulter, or Limbaugh moderate a debate?
ARE THE REPUBLICANS STUPID???????????????? WHAT THE HELL’S THE MATTER WITH THEM???
Gwen Ifill tripped and fell while carrying Obama’s and the Democrat’s water. No surprise, since she’s probably tired after doing it for so long.
yes, but she hadn’t written a book praising John Edwards. That’s the difference.
ARE THE REPUBLICANS STUPID???????????????? WHAT THE HELLS THE MATTER WITH THEM???
You're right. This is an outrage.
