Voted here in rural central Missouri first thing this morning. Both polling places I visited were very busy at 6:30 AM. (I didn’t vote twice! I was driving another voter to the polls!)

4Boys Dad, our son and I got to the polls around 8:15. We are in Hamilton, VA. There were lots of friendly poll workers, and the check in was a lot faster than normal even though there was a line. (Probably 10-15 in line and 15+ voting, which is more than usual, though we usually vote in the evening.) There was only 1 voting machine and lots of booths for paper ballots, which most people used, my son and I included.

My husband opted to wait for the machine. He noticed that whoever set up the machine must have had a bias, since the first screen had only one presidential choice on it, Obama. The second screen had all of the other choices, including McCain (I think on the top of the second page.... not sure about that) So he was glad to navigate to the second screen, to cast his vote. It actually made him more determined to do so. Broken glass!!!!

Most people at the precinct were very upbeat and friendly and the poll workers were quite friendly and helpful. We thanked any that we spoke with for serving. The process seemed very streamlined, and people were able to get in and out quite quickly.

On another note... one of our McCain/Palin signs was stolen from our front yard... but only one... we still have another. This is in a very rural, upscale neighborhood with only 10 houses on a cul-de-sac... no through traffic. We thought that was strange.

I didn’t see any poll watchers of either persuausion and there was nobody outside with sample ballots or anything...of course it was raining pretty steadily at the time. We were using Diebold machines. I love them they’re very easy to use and at the end youget a nice confirmation screen to review before you actually ‘cast’ your ballot.

Wife and I just voted. It took about 15 minutes for me and 30 minutes for her. For some reason her address was wrong and the voter roll. She cleared it up though.

Lots of blacks and young white kids voting. I would still say that a majority of voters today are older 30 to 60 and white.

Standing in line in Albany, New York. I was wearing my Sarah-cuda t-shirt. A cop here told me to take it off, so I complied. I don't think it's against the law though to wear it inside a polling place.

There are about 50 people in line in front of me. Kinda nuts for 10:30 Am on election day I think.

About half the people in line in front of me are African-American, and the rest are older(60+) white folks. I'm the only white guy under 30.

I live in Morris County, NJ, a strong republican county in a hopelessly democrat state. I just got back from voting and was pleased to see a heavy turnout. It won’t mean a thing in NJ and republican voters know that, but still wanted their voices heard. I think that bodes well for states like Ohio and Pennsylvania where the final outcome is in doubt.

I also don’t understand this thing about lines. Does everyone have to wait in line to vote? Out in California, there are never any lines to vote.

That's because they vote for you.

I stopped by the polls this AM and decided to go back later when it’s not so busy. It’s not far from my office, and I can get there later when the people who’re trying to vote before they go to work have a chance. I’d guess there was 100 people in line, which is the longest I’ve ever seen here in our little uber-conservative small town. (We’re all clingers, dontcha know!)

Got back about an hour ago. Lots of fired up McCain/Palin supporters. I did see one guy in line ahead of me with a jacket with www.freerepublic.com embroidered on the back of it. I was going to go up and talk to him ... but as I got closer I noticed that the “free” had been crossed out and replaced with “fraud” ... figured he would be writing in Ron Paul’s name.

Voted in southern Indiana! Had to wait 45 minutes, some were waiting over an hour. This is a first, I live in a small community, if you blink, you miss it. There is usually only a few in line. Most there, I was pretty sure were for McCain, a few libs, but mostly hard working Americans.

There’s a chance of taking the House, since the state will be going for McCain, but the question remains if it ends up a narrow majority, will some of those Republicans vote for the GOP candidate for Speaker in January.

Standing in line in north Ft. Worth with Mrs. Shady Ray, who just recently became a US citizen and is voting for the first time. She is excited to pull the lever for McPalin because, as she says, “My native country (Germany) has seen Obama’s song and dance before... and it didn’t end very well there.”

Fort Worth is big time GOP country, particularly this precinct, and I am thrilled to see this many people lined up to vote. If it indicates the mood across the country, I think the silent majority is about to roar!!!

I voted at 7am this morning in northern Indiana. Turn out was fairly good. I think many Hoosiers are going to the polls this time since Indiana “may” be in play. I hope we stay red!
