Who won tonight? The MSM.

Posted on 11/04/2008 11:58:48 PM PST by toughwuss

A sad night for sure, and looking back over the last eternity it seems, there is one thing for sure, the McCain Campaign didn't lose (he got closer than any other republican could have gotten this time around), the Obama Campaign didn't win, The MSM won.

The Media won its battle for the Hearts and Minds of the American People.

This process began about a year into the Iraq war, when the press systematically began undermining the country, the president and all of our safety with how and what they reported... this built into a movement that had not our countries best interest in mind, but the ultimate outcome of changing the political landscape at any cost...

I'm sad to say, but they Won. The population have been dumbed down to the point that they cannot or will not look past this veil that covers the reality. I pray enough come out of this comma that we only have to endure 4 years of this and come back stronger.... but tonight I can only weep for what is to come.

It looked like Sarah was having a hard time holding it together during the concession speech. Don’t know how she did it.

Yes, clutching at straws-he actually voted for the measure to commit infanticide on babies who survive abortion, as an Illinois state senator. I believe that what he’s said, isn’t even the half of what he intends to do. He wasn’t affiliated with Wright and Ayres all those years for nothing. He could’ve had anyone as his pastor-he was drawn to Wright. He could’ve launched his campaign anywhere-it was from Ayres’ home. I believe that he softened his stances, and his words, for this election, both in the primary and in the general. He’d never (well, I say that, but considering what America is becoming, who knows?) have normally gotten elected if people knew the half of it. He’s not a Clinton, in it for mere personal ambition. He despises America, he thinks he owes America a grudge, and now’s his chance to pay it.

MSM

Ragged scornful lot, hate filled words and show,
Better to meet the bear, the swine and snake,
Can’t stand to hear you shout about what you don’t know,
Better to kick an ass, feed the croc, than have your lie make,
Anything for us, anything against us, you simple fake.

You smile our way but your phony smile gives you away.
For when you open that mouth—that smarmy, screwed up hole,
You talk and talk but do not have a true and good thing to say,
About any real Christian or Jew, about anyone who pays the toll,
By work—ever to work, pay and pray; we humbly live to work our soul.

You proclaim yourself free of bias and informed, numbed,
To agendas. But no day passes you fail to strike us hard.
Do you think we can’t hear? Do you think we’re simply dumb?
We hear your twists, your omissions, how you play your card.
We know you enough to know your news is false, liberally marred.

Coleman is up by maybe 7000 votes with 99% reporting.

This is Florida 2000 in a heavily Dem area.

You do the math.

Coleman's campaign advisors who told him to "play nice" were Democrat moles.

Kyrie Eleison!

So many of these posts remind me of the democraps when Bush beat gore. (he'll never be my president, he stole the election.....)My 2 cents say stop this sour grapes attitude right now before it becomes a cancer within us and use it as true wake up call for reform of the Republican party( a third party would not have enough impact now, unless it was led by a person like Sarah Palin). Now is the time for conservatives to stop being complainers and try something new like leaders. Fight the liberals using their own laws and policies. How do criminals beat our justice system, they use it against us.
We have a true opportunity to rebuild our party and country into what the founding fathers fought for. Do not let our country go the way of Rome. God is giving us the challenge and guidance to become even a better nation. Let's use His guidance rather than allow satin to keep us in the dark and spiteful emptiness.

I totally agree. But we will remain a minority party at our peril. Obama can be forced to the center and that is our responsibility. And the people here can do it. But if we stomp our feet and say our way or the highway we are handing the d’splats exactly what they want. Screw Pelosi and Reed — Obama is the guy who will be the moderate. Have you really been listening to him? If you think it is BS, let’s at least give it a try, huh?

Yes, it is time to begin to seriously consider compromise where we can, and standing on principle where we must. This country has to solve its problems or we all suffer mightily. Even Fox seems to have gotten the message. We will do this or marginalize FreeRepublic for a long time. I say let’s try to “perfect the union” (yeah, BHO said it, but he’s right here). Being in total obstructionist mode, as some are suggesting, is suicide. C’mon people. This may not be as much fun, but I love my country enough to do this. And if we make it clear we’re ready for it, and the Dems fail to meet us half-way, as they surely will fail, then we can arrange an off-year revolt and take back the congress in 2 years. But if we simply kick and scream, we’re going to lose a few MORE seats in the Senate in 2 years and then we will really be f@*ked and have only ourselves to blame. Follow Susan Collins, the stealth reactionary!

I think it needs to go deeper than that. The MSM is slowly dying from a financial perspective even though they won this election for Obama. I think we all need to consider what media outlets we are giving our money to.

We need to look at all of our subscriptions to newspapers, magazines, cable TV, satellite etc. and start to make a concerted effort to boycott these outlets.

We can start today. This will have a severe impact on this industry.

That is terrible advice! We need to counter the Democratic message, not hide in a cave.

Oh I didn't mean hide in a cave. I just mean NO INTERVIEWS to the liberal press. Until the internet is shut down, we can get our message out that way. It is the liberal press that put Hussein in the Whitehouse.

Unity? I cannot unify behind a man who will surrender Iraq and dishonor the people who died for the ideal of freedom. Heck, the war is essentially won. Will Fauxbama give Bush the credit for following through and getting the job done? No, Fauxbama is nothing, if he’s not arrogant.

I gave Clinton the benefit of the doubt. I spent the first 2 months being supportive of his presidency. Hoping, as my support faded, against hope, that he would actually turn around and do the things that I’d seen the presidents of the past do (I didn’t really pay attention to Carter as I was 6 when he got in office) and finally, gave up hope. All hope.

When Bush took over, I hoped that we finally had a decent man in office.

I gave him several months because I knew the Clintoon team had been so disgusting in their turn-over team. But, his words, his actions, and his general blatant disregard for conservative principles, his complete obliviousness to the trashing he was taking (you can’t keep letting the school bully keep punching you in the nose over and over and saying “He’ll get over it.” You show you have no respect for yourself.) I wanted to vote 3rd party because I was so disgusted with him by 2004. But, then, of course, the Dems put an even more dangerous beast, known as Kerry up for election.

So, this election, I was very supportive of Duncan Hunter. And he got completely ignored by the press because he was the best of the candidates out there for the Conservative movement, so in their minds, he had to be destroyed.

When McCain won the primary, I was disgusted. Bound and determined I was going to vote third party, and then Sarah Palin came along. I was excited and thrilled. And then the tons of garbage and slime and abject journalistic malpractice came about.

Obama tried to claim the high ground because he didn’t actually say some of the slimy lies about Palin. And why should he? I mean, he had his mouthpieces in the media doing the hit jobs for him. What they did was sheer propaganada. And I was disgusted. I talked to people. I tried to convince, tried to persuade, tried to make sure that others knew the things that had been found about Obama but were being hidden by the media.

I’m going to give Obama 1 month in office. If he does well, fine, I’ll refrain from trashing him for another month. But, if he shows the same colors he did in the primaries and the general election (communist red), fine, I’m going to do whatever I can to demolish the man. The leftists never gave Bush a single day. Every day was “Hate Bush” day. And it nearly destroyed our country. And the press sucked it up and vomited their opinions all over the news pages.

Last night was a sad, and possibly fatal day for our country.

Ah sh&t. OK, I’ll just address one of your points where you are wrong, because for the most part I agree with you. But there is a reason the pendulum has swung so far the other way, and it has to do with the willingness on both sides to believe the baloney they’re fed by people trying to manipulate them. And I’m going to get plonked for this, because some of you knee-jerk freepers think that anybody who is interested in moving forward is somehow a Communist.

Okay, here goes. As much as I support life, it’s total crap that Obama voted for killing babies who survived abortion. Read a goddamned neutral source on this. The bill in Illinois guaranteed this right, and Obama voted against it. That much is absolute fact. What is stupid to ignore (hey — did it help us to win the election?) is that Illinois already HAD a law protecting that baby. Whether or not the new law passed, the baby was protected. The new law was going to OVERTURN the old law, but the new law was different NOT because of the baby survival issue, but because it made it harder to gain consent for abortions, and THAT BHO disagreed with. He was a turd to feel this way, but for godsakes, can’t we get at actual facts??

The devil himself isn’t stupid enough to vote to kill a baby who survives an abortion. And Obama’s genius was in stating his defense about one time, and then just ignoring this charge. It was a self-inflicted wound people. Hello?? Are we going to be laughed out of the political scene because we are as blind as the libs who we hate on the other side?? Gimme a break. Look, if you want to plonk me, go right ahead.

I’m getting really really tired of dealing with such ignorant people (I mean freepers), even if I love them and agree with them. You people are bringing the Republican party DOWN — and you are so self-righteous about it. I think you’re ALL plants of George Soros or something, calculated to make the Conservative cause look absolutely infantile!!! Every post I get “oh, he must be a plant” or “oh, he must be lurking”. If you feel that way, get rid of me and go suck your thumb — although that’s gonna be a bit difficult with your head in the sand, or somewhere else where the sun don’t shine.

I appreciate the reply and the lesson, you needn't have been so patronising, I'm always willing to learn and never take offense to it. But I believe that though I may not know the fine points and the hair splitting, my point still stands. I still see nothing in that one's agenda behind which I, or any conservative, could possibly unite. Just the mere fact that he's president? How far do we go with that? If in some parallel universe David Duke was elected president, would we all be required to respect him and unite behind him because of the office he held? In my opinion, that one is David Duke's negative, only more subtle and sophisticated about it, as minorities with a racialist viewpoint think they must be to "get over" on we "oppressive" whites, until they gain a position of power. Then they accuse us of every sin in the book, in order to excuse their own blatant prejudice. And that's apart from his entire worldview which I abhor.
