Forty five percent (45%) of U.S. voters say it is likely President-elect Obama or one of his top campaign aides was involved in the unfolding Blagojevich scandal in Illinois, including 23% who say it is Very Likely.
Just 11% say it is not at all likely, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken Thursday and Friday nights.
Voters nationally are more skeptical than those in Illinois. Thirty-two percent (32%) of Illinois voters said in a survey late last week that there is no way Obama was involved in the Blagojevich case, while only 13% said it is Very Likely that the president-elect was involved, with another 13% saying it is Somewhat Likely.
The Chicago Tribune on Saturday reported that Obamas White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had conversations with Blagojevichs staff about candidates who were acceptable to the president-elect to fill his vacant Senate seat. Obama resigned from the Senate following his election as president.
Other news organizations have since confirmed the Tribunes report, but no official word has come from Emanuel or the president-elect. Up until now, no one in a position of authority is saying that Obama or anyone on his staff is guilty of wrongdoing.

114. Later on November 13, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke with Advisor A. ROD BLAGOJEVICH asked Advisor A to call Individual A and have Individual A pitch the idea of the 501(c)(4) to “[President-elect Advisor].” Advisor A said that, “while it’s not said this is a play to put in play other things.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH responded, “correct.” Advisor A asked if this is “because we think there’s still some life in [Senate Candidate 1] potentially?” ROD BLAGOJEVICH said, “not so much her, but possibly her. But others.”What's on those tapes? Obama must be having some sleepless nights wondering what Fitzie knows.115. Throughout the past month, ROD BLAGOJEVICH has continued to engage in numerous conversations relating to filling the open Senate seat. In these conversations, he has repeatedly discussed the attributes of potential candidates, including, among other things, the candidates’ ability to benefit the State of Illinois, and the personal and political benefits for himself and his family of appointing particular candidates. These calls have included the following:
a. On December 4, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke to Advisor B and informed Advisor B that he was giving Senate Candidate 5 greater consideration for the Senate seat because, among other reasons, if ROD BLAGOJEVICH ran for re-election Senate Candidate 5 would “raise[] money” for ROD BLAGOJEVICH, although ROD BLAGOJEVICH said he might “get some (money) up front, maybe” from Senate Candidate 5 to insure Senate Candidate 5 kept his promise about raising money for ROD BLAGOJEVICH. (In a recorded conversation on October 31, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH described an earlier approach by an associate of Senate Candidate Five as follows: “We were approached ‘pay to play.’ That, you know, he’d raise me 500 grand. An emissary came. Then the other guy would raise a million, if I made him (Senate Candidate 5) a Senator.”)
Ah, but did they report it? Are they required to?
Good questions, MrB!
He’s as innocent as OJ.
this poll confirms that half of the people in this country have no brain!!!
Obama's office says his staff had no 'inappropriate contact' with the Illinois governor!
Rahm, "I never had sex with, nor 21 inappropriate phone calls, nor 'inappropriate contact' , nor had "inappropriate financial discourse' with the Illinois Governor. Hell, President Obama and I don't even know him."
Chicago Team Obama
Hey Zer0, How are you hanging in there with the big boys? How's your smoking and facial tics coming along? Enjoy your ride. The fun is just beginning.
Not true. Obama's camp wanted a 2 year delay for the appointment/payoff so as not to leave fingerprints and also were privy to the 3rd party arrangement with the SEIU. Oh, the dealings on the Senate seat "did not involve our other deals", Fitz has 3 more weeks of these tapes (and years of others) such that a reasonable person could conclude that this thing ain't going away as much as the 'rats and presstitutes want. Whether it reaches up to the world's now most powerful Chicago pol, who knows. Perchance past will be prologue.
BTW, welcome to Free Republic, where speculation is rampant but the facts are kept straight...
Were I in ding dongs position I probably would have a girlfriend. What with that shelf assed wife of his.
Actually, 100 per cent believe it — 45 is the percentage who actually object to it. Same percentage probably goes for the certifigate. :’)

that’s not a majority, so, nothingtoseehere.
I agree with this conclusion. There are some things you just don't let happen to a nation and the decision surely seems like the lesser of evils. Wouldn't have had to make it myself, but the alternative would potentially have led to disaster.
Do you have a link to this?
Caller to Sean Hannity stated that the end goals of getting the power to implement his vision are worth every compromise he had to make to get there.
>>>>So end justifies means :(
for a sec I thought headline indicated 45% of the 0bama team was involved in the scandal. Seemed kinda low I thought.
The original post is on a hunting magazine like Tn. Deerhunters - or something similar.
According to Judicial Watch they’ve recieved some letters between Obama about a meeting between he and Blago some two days before the arrest.
