Scalia: You need 4 votes for Obama eligibility case
WND ^ | 3-10-09 | Bob Unruh

A lawyer lobbying the U.S. Justice Department and the U.S. Supreme Court for a review of Barack Obama's qualifications to be president says a key conservative justice has hinted that another conservative justice has been voting against hearing the dispute. According to Orly Taitz, a California attorney working through her Defend Our Freedoms Foundation on several cases challenging Obama, said she was presented with an opportunity to ask a question of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia yesterday. The issue of Obama's eligibility has been raised before the Supreme Court at least four times already but has yet to be given a single hearing. Cases have been brought by Taitz, Philip Berg, Cort Wrotnowski and Leo Donofrio.

Man up and say it.
But I've already told you I can't. I don't want to lose my posting privileges.
Just use your imagination. You seem adept at that.

Your cyber toughness has me cyber terrified. Seriously, I've enjoyed the debate. That's what I love about this site. Grown folks can engage in civil debate without resorting to the childish cyber bullying tactics embraced at DU. Have a blessed day my FRiend.

Too bad you didn't act like a grown up, what with you trying to insinuate things that were not so and like offering up stupid questions like the ones about the FBI files that were stolen before 44 was even elected to public office in Illinois.

Have a blessed day my FRiend.
Yeah, you have a nice day too.

Would that be cyber intelligence?

Yeah and you did with your cyber threats. I swear I've met more tough guys on-line than I have in 20 plus years of military service. All you guys are a joke with your, "I'd really tell you something if it weren't for the mods", tough talk. Defend your position and save the tough talk for My Space.

Defend your position...
I thought I had. You did say...You win—I give up.
That usually means that the other person defended their position.

He never said there were three justices, or even one justice, in support of this petition.

Scalia is quoted in the article as saying: "Bring the case, I'll hear it, I don't know about others."

"To believe her story is to believe Scalia to be an incompetent justice who decides which cases to hear from customers at a book signing.

Absolutely agree 100%. SC Justices are so painfully carefull about not commenting on cases that are before the court, or that have even the most remote possibility of comming before the court. There is NO WAY that a man as sharp as Scalia said this. It is an absolute fabrication.

Is this the first website you’ve posted at? I doubt it. You are a n00b and get used to being “hazed” on any political forum you join.

I can't imagine a US Supreme Court Justice dispensing legal advice advice to a potential plaintiff at his book signing.

That was my initial reaction. But then Taitz (as quoted by WND), gives such a detailed description of what transpired. On reflection I think you are probably right. Which can only mean that Taitz is a pathological liar. I don't know enough about her to know if there is any other evidence for this.

Of course if there were really 300 other people at this event, surely someone else would report what happened.

The list of cases that the SCOTUS has denied related to the eligibility of Obama to be president is both discouraging and enlightening. It strongly suggests that there is a lot of political influence pressuring the Court to deny the case. This is problematic because the Court is supposed to be an apolitical body that rules solely on the basis of the Constitution and case law.

For the SCOTUS to deny a case (as it has in many cases involving Obama’s eligibility) on the grounds that the plaintiff has no standing to bring suit is troubling. Establishing Obama’s eligibility to be POTUS is a fundamental function of the Court and ANY American citizen should have standing to bring the case before the SCOTUS.

If Obama is eventually proven to not be eligible to be president, IMO, the backlash will be severe. The DNC will have been proven to have acted against the best interests of and the laws of the United States. In addition, by not pursuing this issue to resolution, the Congress will be held complicit in refusing to address the issue and the Democrat party will have placed itself and its future as a major political party into the mud.

This is not going to go away anytime soon.

Or... and I know that this sounds tin-hat ... There’s something else afoot. On Barbara Simpson’s radio show last week (560 KSFO in San Francisco) she said that when the issue is brought up on the air, “threats are made”. And that’s why no one with a national audience (except Savage -— but he’s out there anyway) will bring it up.
