I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Probably at least 2000 people there. Lot of parking on both sides of the park and if filled up fast. I got there a little after 6 pm and barely found a spot way in the back.
Guess who showed up? None other than Rep. Ron Paul. And it wasn’t even in his district. ;)

You need to add the low or high to the mid to get the actual low-high numbers....
We had a truck loaded with large "Tea Bags" (actually sandbags) which we followed from City hall down to the pier, about four blocks, then tossed into the Ocean.
This loudmouth FReeper (Me, happygrl) got them all chanting "the Pirates are in Washington"!!!
Grand Rapids is a nice place and the people are great too.

OLYMPIA, Wash. —
The protesters’ signs made their message crystal clear: No. More. Taxes. The national Tax Day Tea Party brought the largest rally of the year to the Washington Capitol on Wednesday, with the State Patrol estimating the crowd at more than 5,000.

Wow, a major breakthrough! “Tens of thousands”. CNN was stuck on “thousands” all night. It’ll be interesting to see how long (if ever) it takes them to acknowledge it’s over half a million. I figure it’ll be another one of those two line corrections buried on the back page.
