Forbidden Arkeology: "The Riddle Of Ararat"
Fortean Times ^ | By Robin Simmons

Posted on 06/13/2009 3:58:37 AM PDT by Fennie

There's a well-known account of ten year old Georgie Hagopian, who saw Noah's Ark while climbing Ararat with his uncle in 1904. The date isn't precise but this was around the time my grandfather was in the region and heard convincing stories of the Ark, preserved in ice and snow, still occasionally visible.

My grandfather died in 1980, aged 106. As a boy, I listened to his adventures as a doctor in Eastern Turkey and Russia between 1904 and 1910. He worked in the very shadow of Greater Ararat - the legendary Biblical landing place of Noah's ship.

My grandfather said some of the Kurds and Armenians he treated confided that the great Ark was preserved on Ararat. They said, it's "high on the northern side, a little below the saddle" of the twin-peaked dormant volcano.

Now you know why the Ark of Noah is

Thank you!

Someone who has read the Bible!

With all the trees soaked by water, the ark would be a GREAT source of wood for rebuilding society.

I simply put up my skeptical filter when I saw such a string of unlikely related snippets put together. The discussion was not coherent, tied together, or logical.

Does that mean the I do not think some of the subjects are worth examining, No.

But it did mean that I found the site vague, disjointed, and trying to tie together things in a manner that my BS filter rejected.

Respectfully,

Texas Fossil

"there are many who believe that the literal translation is not always the factual translation."

Grasping at straws!

Massive global evidence says global destruction, and flood in a loud voice. A local flood would not fit the undeniable world wide evidence. The very existance of the broken-up continents cannot be explaned without a global event. The existance of deep oceans requires the changes and events described in the Bible.

"Hard to imagine that the flood level was 13,300 feet above sea level at the time"

Really a strawman.

Pre-flood, there were no great mountains, and the world had been one single continent, with a broad, shallow ocean of essentially fresh water.

There is much to be interested about in this article, but one thing in particular caught my attention.

During the expedition, Ed Davis stopped in a cave less than a day’s travel from the ark that had on one wall what he described as strange writing, beautiful and old. What if this was put there by Noah? Could it be written in the original unified language of humanity.. the language of Heaven?

What an incredible discovery that would be. If only the explorer had written it down in his journal and later published it. If he is still alive it should be imperative that he be contacted to try to sketch from memory the writing he saw.

Some believe the original language was Hebrew, but if that is what was in the cave I would think the explorer would have recognized it and said so. It could be a lost language not seen since the Tower of Babel, or... perhaps it is the same writing that is on recovered UFOs.

If it is UFO writing then that would be a huge bomb for sure. It would explain why the ark was looted and the find hidden in secrecy..

Aliens are fallen angels and demons, so it stands to reason that they would still be using the original language. As part of the great deception, perhaps the recovered writings of Noah and his family will be used to fool people into thinking that “aliens” gave men their original language..

With modern power tools it took over 300 man-years of labor to build each of the Ark 'replicas'.
