Glenn Beck's fear of Obama: Seize power overnight
WorldNetDaily ^ | August 26, 2009 | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 08/26/2009 7:18:55 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Will President Obama "seize power overnight" in a move to consolidate White House control of the U.S. government?

That's the fear of Fox News anchor Glenn Beck who discussed the issue at length today with another broadcasting powerhouse, radio's Rush Limbaugh.

"I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Beck said.

His comment came as he was analyzing the changing nature of the media since Obama's election, citing the administration's close ties with the NBC network, owned by corporate giant General Electric:

If you watch what could only be called the administration's organ – anything involved with GE or NBC – you've got [GE CEO] Jeffrey Immelt on the board of the Federal Reserve, you have him in the Oval Office consulting not only on health care, but the financial situation, and they are an organ. If you watch MSNBC, I contend that you will see the future because they are laying the ground for a horrible event ... anything from the right, there's some awful event and I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought.

Limbaugh responded, "I don't think they're going to be able to seize it overnight without anybody knowing about it."

In that case grab your gun and hit the street. It’s that simple.

This is the big question. When Obama FedGov demands the seizure of firearms and the imprisonment of those who do not comply, will our local police forces just follow orders? Or will some (or many) side with the people against Obama FedGov?

Likewise the Army, National Guard, Air Force, etc. Will they turn guns or drop bombs on their own parents and grandparents?

Or will Obama have to rely on his ACORN Army to do the dirty work?

I’ll never forget the photo of that overfed BATF person with the gun trained on 6-year-old Elian Gonzalez who was hiding in a closet.

Will that scene be replayed in 100 million American homes?

It’s amazing Beck has such high ratings during his 5PM time slot. Most of those who would love to listen to him are still at work at that hour.

Could you imagine what his ratings would be if he had a later spot?

>> He needs the support of the U.S. MILITARY.

Out of all our so-called public “servants” who take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution — most will not even pay lip service to that concept.

Except our military. I have faith that they take *their* oath seriously.

Mind you, after ten to twenty years of perversion at the hands of an Obama, I’ll be a little worried about them too.

But right this moment I’m not too worried.

I’d say it really is like Beck’s losing it, he’ll be out of a job if he keeps saying this kind of crazy crap.

Beck substantiates everything he says with evidence - video clips of previous speeches and such - he isn't "losing it". He's simply displaying facts and putting together the pieces of the puzzle in a logical manner.

If you think for a second that Obama and his gang of merry Czars aren't destroying our constitutional republic, you need to open your eyes.

I can see where Glen is going with this but I believe Rush settled the man down today a whole lot.

“...and why are Republicans not haveing any opinions on any of this...or checking the legality of this ruling body obama is setting up.”

Still think the Republican party really fundamentally opposes the principles held by the Democratic party???

Even democrats are openly questioning him. Obamacare for instance.

I hope you're right. When they reject it outright I'll think we're on to something.

Saw Beck tonight and it scared me. Glenn is lining up all the horses in a row so the people can see what is going on with this Administration.
I believe what Glenn is reporting is factual therefore, we are in big trouble.

I know what you mean.

I can’t see how it could be done.

They could possibly get through what, .01% o the 40 million homes, then for every 10 doors they kicked in, one home owner would fight back. I don’t see how they could allow this at the local level. It would be quite a mess.

And in the end, they’d only create a new black market.

He has the support of the military......until he loses it.

To my knowledge, that has never happened. But.....

In the interim, he can do what he wants within his idea of the law. That is why he hired a sleaze for the AG spot.

Glen, I would LOVE to see this Administration make that move. Would absolutely LOVE to see it happen. Just hand us the justification to do what needs to be done. Please make this move, commie bastard.

The first sign will be large scale power and communication blackouts.

I think the first sign will be arrests of the political opposition.

Glenn is right and we’re already close to it.

You don’t have to have a picture of the politburo head in every school and office in order for the government to more or less be managing people lives and “directing” an economy. As in Europe, where you have these pseudo market economies where the government really has the power and complete control but private property, enterprise, etc still exists, it is easy to have only a facade but no real economic or personal freedom. With the takeover of the US financial industry some time ago, health care which alone is 1/8 of the economy, stimulus bills that included massive expansions in government programs.....etc. you essentially have an economy that is as in Europe, state run. You still have private citizens buying and selling, but the real power broker behind the scene is a government that is calling the shots. The average German does not consider his economy to be state run, but it is. Essential industries and infrastructure as well as banking and finance are all either outright government run or so regulated that they de facto are. In an economy where 48% of the GDP is in some form managed by a government and the rest is highly regulated, where the banking and finance industry as well as other core industries serving the economic functions are largely government run, one can only make rhetorical arguments that this is still a free market. The US is rapidly mirroring this form of government run and pseudo free economy.

Only on paper and at face value without looking behind the curtain, are you free and is the economy a free market being directed by the choices of individual consumers in such an economy. In reality like Europe, we are becoming an economy run by czars, bureaucrats, and politicians. From wind mills (which are being built with stimulus money) to what car GM will build or what a CEO can earn, the government is “directing” things, and the long term outcome for these command driven economies is well known.
