A Seattle police officer was shot to death and another officer was wounded late Saturday night while conducting a traffic stop in the city's Central District neighborhood.
The officer who died was a veteran of the department, and the woman who was wounded is a student officer in training, Assistant Chief Jim Pugel said

The shooter was apparently a passing motorist, who pulled up next to them and opened fire.
Since Seattle coddles criminals and scrutinizes every action of the police, is it any wonder that people are not afraid to deliberately kill police officers?
This is the result of liberalism.
Tough cities with tough police departments do not have these problems.

Sounds like some sort of gang initiation. But if gangs are now initiating by killing cops, thats a serious turn of events.
“Sounds like some sort of gang initiation. But if gangs are now initiating by killing cops, thats a serious turn of events.”
Now we’ll see who the toughest gang is. I’m betting on the Cops.
11:34PM - Other sources -
Seattlecrime.com is reporting police were on alert as a
man who was let out of jail earlier tonight had made
threats against officers.
Does Seattle have a large Muslim population?
Maybe a revenge killing for that raghead that got dusted in another state.
This is a serious turn, if it is true. No, I,m afraid if the gang bangers start killing cops randomly, it will make any kind of law enforcement almost impossible in some areas. It already is impossible in some places. The police can hardly shoot everyone who approaches them. A gangbanger with just a knife could easily kill an officer, if the officer didn’t know it was coming.
Hopefully, as bad as this is, maybe it’s not an initiation ceremony.
And they say there is no death penalty.
There is death every day on the streets of this nation. But, those who chose death for others are protected from it.
WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP.
Latest news release.
The version of the story I'm hearing this morning is that the pair of cops had earlier been doing a traffic stop, but it concluded and they pulled off to the side of the road at about 29th & Yesler Way to discuss some training items. The trainee cop was in the passenger seat as a car passed them, and she apparently saw a weapon at the last second and yelled to "duck" just as shots were fired. The weapon is described as a rifle. Perhaps about ten rounds were fired. The veteran cop was in the driver's seat and was struck, killing him. The trainee cop was struck with a grazing wound, but was able to return fire as the car sped off.
Ah... that story has them reversed in seating from what I heard. The trainee in the drivers seat and the veteran cop in the passenger’s seat. Your story being a release from the department is probably more accurate.
Not at 29th and Yesler. Thats way out in Madrona. Not sure
what sort of neighborhood that is but its a good hike from
Pioneer quare.
Somalis live in Rainier Beach and Seatac.
The officers may have been interfering with the rampant
drug dealing that goes on openly downtown. In Pioneer Square they aren’t even coy about it.
The followers of the imam shot last week, the Ummah, vowed revenge.
There was an advisory sent out by the Feds, IIRC.
Drug dealers and gangbangers don’t usually do hits on cops.
Just damn.
Here’s another story, quoting a Sunday news conference.

We’re back to the unit facing south at the right curb, trainee in driver’s seat. Occupants of vehicle that approached from the north opened fire, apparently with a rifle, then backed up and made a U turn and fled back the way they came. So that probably puts the shooter in the right seat of the suspect vehicle. That driving pattern, to me, suggests some degree of experience on the part of the killers.
