Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!

In the hypothetical case you describe - I may choose to vote for neither... I will let a RINO be defeated - or take just let him or her take what chance may bring without my support.

Do you see a difference between Bush, or Obama? Cheney, or Biden? Palin, or Gore? Hastert, or Pelosi? Frist, or Reid? Alito, or Sotomayor? John Bolton, or Susan Rice? a $500 Billion deficit that funds the WOT, or $1.5 Trillion deficit that doesn't? A popular prescription drug benefit, or an unpopular complete take over of health care? A warrior CIC who makes a mistake about the WOT and compensates when the strategery fails, or a CIC who makes the minimum effort needed to fail but still cover his political ass? A President who reaches out to the minority party to try and be a POTUS of all the People, or a POTUS who gets only votes from his own party?
If a majority of Americans reject the GOP in 2010, like they did in 2006 and 2008 would you be interested in a candidate who can win 50% of the vote in a moderate state as a GOP candidate? Why did Hunter and Tancredo do so poorly when many conservatives think the GOP problem is a watered down message? Is it possible the completely inept campaign run by Dr Keyes in 2006 had more to do with the election of Osama in 2008 than the GOP's handling of war, taxes and social issues?

Almost 300 post and yet the ONLY GOP candidate FR supports is Palin. and she may not run...It would be laughable if my family’s future was not at stake. Looks like 4 more years of 0 before conservatives recognize that they ain’t a freekin’ majority. 2006, 2008 and the 2009 elections taught us nothing. God Bless US. What you are saying is that you are a Republican first and a Conservative second. Moderates and RINOs are not good for the Republican party, but they are most certainly better than Marxists for the good of the country. That’s my primary concern when voting, not whether a certain political party comes out ahead.

Not only do these values appeal to her base, they appeal to Middle America, to Independents and Democrats. On all these issues, Obama and the Democrats have set themselves up for a fall. Palin is on the right side of these issues and everyone knows it.
Let's see how long it takes for the GOP party hacks to get a clue. Or not.
So what are these values?
1. Energy; "Drill, baby, drill", "Exploit all the above"
2. Economy; "Stop digging the hole deeper." and unleash the private sector.
3. Healthcare; She favors competition, tort reform and waste reduction.
4. Environment; Rejects Cap and Trade. Favors environmentally sensitive development.
5. Security; Support the armed services and let them do their job. Don't lower your guard. Specifically, stand by your allies, win in Afghanistan and treat terrorists as terrorists, not citizens.
6. Israel; Build, baby, build. She supports the right of Jews to build in Judea and Samaria. She rejects Obama's racist policy of telling the Jews where they cannot live. She is a harsh critic of Ahmedinejad and his government and faults Obama for not supporting the opposition.
7. Patriotism; Patriotism is good, not bad. America is good, not bad. The Constitution must be protected and upheld.
8. Social; She supports life not "death panels", the weak including challenged children and the elderly, hard work and not entitlement, private sector charity rather then government handouts..
9. Ethics; Accountability over cronyism
Not only do these values appeal to her base, they appeal to Middle America, to Independents and Democrats. On all these issues, Obama and the Democrats have set themselves up for a fall. Palin is on the right side of these issues and everyone knows it.
The Left in America doesn't so much reject these values as it does her. In fact they ignore her message and set up straw man values for her that they can attack. The Left is struggling to brand her as a Christian fundamentalist, God forbid, an idiot, a know-nothing, a racist and anything else that has a negative connotation.
Palin is effectively galvanizing and rebranding the Conservative movement and making it her own. Who better to lead it then she. The GOP will ultimately adopt her brand and her as leader.
You know I don’t think you are processing information correctly. If you think what I wrote in my response to you or anywhere else meant that I am Republican First and Conservative Second then you need to take some basic reading lessons at about the first grade level.
But then again some folks post responses like you did just to provoke.
I don’t even consider myself Republican anymore ... started when G.W. Bush fell in love with Illegal Aliens. I am an Independent Conservative or a Conservative Independent.

I miss the fire and the fury, the sound of the howitzer and the smell of the smoke.
But, I have bad knees now.
So this hunting dog no longer ‘hunts’.
Been looking for a nice quiet pasture to laze about in when I can.
But, working thrid shift tends to keep me from my search for a quiet solitude to relax in.
I’m hoping they get far greater than I stated so that my e-mail to them is an understatement.
