Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site
12/11/2009 | Jim Robinson

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

I am far from the word police. Various others serve that function.

My thought is that creo propaganda is not news and should be relegated off the news forum. I have no interest in censoring.

The land under my house was owned by Fitzhugh up until George Washington seized it from him for being a Tory. Been a piece of America since the foundations!

This neighborhood is not majority Christian. We have some Orthodox here, and Copts, and several kinds of Moslems, and RCs, Presbyterians, Methodists (all from Korea), and so on.

Still, the combined Hindu/Buddhist/Shinto/etc. crowd outnumbers any other group.

I'd like to take back that word "fundamentalist" and its associated word "fundamental" from the folks who appropriated it in the early 20th century, and their Leftwingtard gaggle-gang who persist in maintaining those two words may apply ONLY to those who sided against Scopes in the "Monkey Trial".

Good grief guys, that was a long time ago, and everybody involved in it is dead now.

Time for "fundamental" and "fundamentalism" in religion be returned to their proper place.

BTW, I've noticed the Leftwingtards and their running dog lackeys in the MSM have no trouble using "fundamentalist" with "Moslem" to mean someone who's simply a believer in what their prophet told them to do. The MSM, and RCs, seem to have difficulty in accepting the same terms with respect to the Pope who's simply a Christian believer in what Jesus told his followers to do, and for his Apostles to preach.

These are good words too valuable to be wasted on a single topic.

It is suggested that a branch of science (evolutionary biology) is in fact a political movement.

The word "Darwinism" was coined to described a political movement and by an uber-Darwinist in fact.

...and I agree that there exist people, who use (or rather abuse) evolutionary biology to promote atheism (e.g. Richard Dawkins). But as far as I know Richard Dawkins does not post here on FR. The word “Darwinist”, uttered as a politically-charged expletive, is used to brand as godless commies those, who dare to debunk ‘creation science’ or protest the ‘I am a better Christian than you’ attitude of some sectarians.

Patrick Henry, good guy. So was Thomas Paine. He was and is still is revered for his Common Sense but not so much for what he wrote afterwards. Just as noteworthy.

Sorry, I wasn’t thinking of posters re patrick henry but the real people.

You, my FRiend are experiencing a KJR (knee-jerk reaction). I don't think you have any idea what Jim Robinson is about. So, here's my contribution to your post:

As they say, one man's Kurd is another man's Persian.

So too with some of what you call "Creo Propaganda". For ever and a coon's age the Evos have argued that the genus equus has had hundreds of species over millions of years, and now we find that it's had dozens of species, almost all of which still exist, who've simply changed size, shape and color over those millions of years (See: Science News).

Although the Creos had no scientific justification for their belief they did claim that "kind" is some sort of natural "field" so if you find a horse, it's a horse, and a zebra is a zebra, and darned if they weren't right about the end product ~ horses are and have been horses for a lot longer than the Evos were willing to credit.

It would be inappropriate to start demanding that the Evos start challenging the Creo's "kind field theory" (or shut up) of course since there's still no science behind it. On the other hand, I think it's perfectly appropriate to demand that the Evos come up with some realistic scientific evidence for the existence of their demigod called "natural selection" ~ 'cause it sure isn't apparant that it's important in the consideration of evolution in horse or other horse-like lineages.

Now that you mention it, it does seem, that yeah, just about every site has a comments section. Some good, most really really bad.

Let's make sure we agree on what the term "inspired" means. In my mind it does not mean that there's a perfect copy of the OT up in Heaven and our OT is a "copy" handed down by God HImself directly to his prophets.

Is that agreed?

“As far as the Phelps comparison, I think it apt as I noted in an above post. GGG’s posts were posited in a way so as to promote confrontation, as the Phelps family does. Oh, and I took 10 months off work to study the Bible with a group supported by the Assembly of God (I won’t ask what you think of them).”

Nothing justifies your attacking Christians here with the Phelps smear.
I don’t know much about all this evo/creation argument, but I do know that you hate GodGunsGuts. I barely know who the poster is and I sure did not know what you meant when out of the blue you posted to me about a poster called GGG on a totally unrelated thread in a post with no context, it left me baffled until today.

Or it's used to separate sane, undogmatic people who accept evolution and common descent but understand the sanctity of life and realize that there is a transcendental aspect to our existence far more important than material survival from the Godless commies, in which case it is quite useful :-)

>> Likely because Mendel practiced actual science and his work wasn't intertwined with racism, eugenics, Sanger and that ilk. <<

Last time I checked, Darwin applied actual scientific observation and study to come up with his theory, and it contained nothing of "eugenics, Sanger, and that ilk". Charles Darwin believed in inheritance through a theory of pangenesis, not genetics.

Mendel was the father of genetics (which Darwin had absolutely NO knowledge of), so when the fundamentalists here try to blame NAZI eugenics on "Darwinism" it's like trying to blame Tiger Woods sex scandal on steroid use in baseball players. Just as the latter two had nothing in common besides both being sports, the NAZI eugenics program had nothing in common with "Darwinism" aside from the fact they both cited "science". You can blame "Darwin" for eugenics as much as you could blame Copernicus or Marie Curie.

If they want to blame "science" for the holocaust, they could start by figuring out what type of science was corrupted to create the theory of eugenics, and of course the answer would be Mendellian genetics.

If the word “Darwinist” is used exclusively to denominate Godless atheists like Dawkins, then I will not protest its use. So, may some YE creationist clarify, if, for example, Pope John Paul II was a “Darwinist”, when he stated that evolution is compatible with Christian faith?

Excellent post.

This is your site, your home and imo everyone should be respectful of that.

I don’t agree with some of the posts/posse here (and from what I’ve seen, there is a posse here that get away with a whole lot but it’s your site and that’s your right to support or not support them).

Personally, I will continue to post here unless I’m banned. I will continue to voice my opinions and at times not agree with the mob. I’ll vote for who I think is best for my town, county, state, country.

God shouldn’t be run off this site and I’d be surprised if that were allowed. However, I think there are some here, and they post a whole lot and try to get other posters banned, and it seems to be allowed which confuses me. This seems to be a major problem. I know I hesitate to piss them off because I know they will do everything they can to harass me and try to get me banned. It’s a problem and one I think should be addressed. But, it ain’t my site so I’ll try to stay out of those threads and conflicts.
