Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site
12/11/2009 | Jim Robinson

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

I have to disagree. FR is not “fringe”.

Absolutely... We are not on the "fringe"; we're at the center of the right-wing Christian preservation movement.

Well. There was the stylized pre-64 campaign personna, and then there was the later senile AuH20.

Point taken though. I do not read JimRob's manifesto here as compatible with Barry the former, the most small-c conservative who ever was in our era.

Not a fan of breaking up Bible scripture. but this Pslams seems apprapo:Pslams 83 (asking GOD to destroy the enemies of the Israelites) But Christians might want to start praying this pray also.

13 Make them like tumbleweed, O my God,
like chaff before the wind.

14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,

15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.

16 Cover their faces with shame
so that men will seek your name, O LORD.

17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.

18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

“Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.”

The left despises Christianity, mostly because it calls them to account for the way they live their lives. Even lefties who call themselves Christians are merely in denial. How can a Pelosi call herself a Christian when she advocates the mass slaughter of babies? The left wants to sin, and as most sinners do, they try to foist their sinful behavior on the rest of us. We are not just in a war of ideology; we are in a war with pure evil!

Only those who think the Ten Commandments are merely the “Ten Suggestions” would call us “fringe”.

Please re-read JimRob’s initial post on this thread.

From what I read, yes, there is room.

However, there are limits and the owner of this site has, thankfully, clearly explained what they are.

I’ve heard of Foxworthy, but haven’t watched him before. I’ve been living in Norway for the last 15 odd years, so no reference intended.

You asked about Exodus 4:24 (Not Exodus 24 as you corrected when others corrected you):

Here is the passage in question from the Amplified Bible followed by an answer to your question, why did God try to kill Moses:

Exodus 4:

“24 Along the way at a [resting-] place, the Lord met [Moses] and sought to kill him [made him acutely and almost fatally ill].

25 [Now apparently he had [b]failed to circumcise one of his sons, his wife being opposed to it; but seeing his life in such danger] Zipporah took a flint knife and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it to touch [Moses’] feet, and said, Surely a husband of blood you are to me!

26 When He let [Moses] alone [to recover], Zipporah said, A husband of blood are you because of the circumcision.”

Note about this passage:

Exodus 4:25 He who is on his way to liberate the people of the circumcision has in Midian even neglected to circumcise his second son Eliezer (J.P. Lange, A Commentary). It was necessary that at this stage of Moses’ experience he should learn that God is in earnest when He speaks, and will assuredly perform all that He has threatened (J.G. Murphy, A Commentary on the Book of Exodus).

You seem to have noticed the little problem of what passes for behavior amongst committed evolutionists... One thing you'll note about them if you study them enough is that their behavior in debates and in forums and the like is orthogonal to political stripe, i.e. that there is no discernible difference between the ones on FR and those on DU for example.

Two things I also observe:

The fruit fly experiments in the early decades of the 1900s should have been the end of it. Fruit flies breed new generations every other day so that running any sort of a decades-long experiment with fruit flies will involve more generations of them than there have ever been of anything even remotely resembling humans on our planet. Those flies were subjected to everything in the world known to cause mutations and the mutants were recombined every possible way; all they ever got were sterile freaks, and fruit flies. Several prominent scientists publicly denounced evolution at that point in time including the famous case of Richard Goldschmidt.

The failure was due to the fact that our entire living world is driven by information and the only information there ever was in the picture was that for a fruit fly. When the DNA/RNA information scheme was discovered, even if the fruit fly thing had never happened, evolution should have been discarded on the spot. But GIVEN the fact of the fruit fly experiments, somebody HAD to have thought to himself "Hey, THAT'S THE REASON THE STEENKIN FRUIT FLY EXPERIMENTS FAILED!!!!!!"

In other words, there is no way in the world anybody should be believing in evolution 40 years after the discovery of DNA and, again, that's just one overwhelming disproof amongst a number of such. Again no legitimate science theory would ever survive such a history.

I'll probably get mercilessly flamed from both sides for this post, so I'll quit now to don the asbestos.

Not from me. It's good to see someone without a dog in the fight come to the same conclusions about DC as the rest of us.

There is nothing the God hating crowd will not stop at to try to discredit the Bible or Christianity.

If this is the best they can do, they have a pretty pathetic case.
