Gates to present specifics on abandoning 'don't ask, don't tell' policy

First of all, the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy is just that, a policy in the Defense Department. It was a political compromise that Hillary and Bill Clinton accepted when they tried to get Congress to change the law. The LAW says homosexuals CANNOT serve openly.

Any "policy" Obama comes up with should change the LAW, but when does what the law say matter to liberals anyway?

Before "Don't Ask" the DoD regulation (based on the law) was to ask recruits if they were homosexual, and to ask the same questions during security clearances and during other events in your career. If it was found out you lied, you were thrown out. If you engaged in homosexual behavior, you were asked to find another career.

The final paragraph from this CNN piece speaks volumes. Michael O'Hanlon (probably homosexual himself) derides our brave troops as a bunch of testosterone, conservative, politically old-fashioned dullards who could not hope to be as enlightened as he and his liberal cohorts, and "accept" this "alternative form of lifestyle."

This "alternative lifestyle" is a disgusting sin, and God Himself has said so. These people have spit in the face of the Almighty, and they have no fear of Him.

I pray they reap what they sow. God will not be mocked.

Finally, Gates is looking at seperate barracks and showers that will be "Gay Only." This is NOT a joke. Can you imagine what these will devolve into?

You are correct. That is more or less the point of the administration’s statement. “I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law” is shoving off the responsibility to congress to change the law. Something they exhibit no great hurry to do. The law could have been changed anytime in the last year. Democrats had the votes, they didn’t have the determination.

It is DOUBLETALK. It sounds good to the target audience but is hollow, it promises nothing. If someday Congress acts they can take credit, and if Congress doesn’t, “Hey it’s not MY fault”. You might have caught that if you had been in less of a hurry to rain down fire and damnation.
