Charley, a new retiree greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn't seem to get to work on time.
Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven,
sharp minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their
"Older Person Friendly" policies.
One day the boss called him into the office for a talk. "Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang up job, but your being late so often is quite bothersome."
"Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it."
''Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear. It's odd though you're coming in late. I know you're retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say if you came in late there?"
"They said, 'Good morning General, can I get you coffee, sir?'''

Seniors do a super job in stores like Walmart, Target, Macy’s, and even big grocery stores now
They show up
They work and have lifetime experience
They show up
They are polite and educated
They show up
They can speak English
They show up
They appreciate their jobs and the customers
and finally: They show up
With 6 people now chasing 1 job in Obama’s worsening Depression - I bet the youngsters and laid off others are finding it mucho tougher to push out Seniors - even in fast-food places

That is amazing. I wish my friend, Janette, was still alive. She was a nurse in WWII. They just gave out some local awards to women who had served in WWII.

Oh sure...Very intelligent U.S. military generals, congressman, engineers, former CEO's, and retired airline pilots need something to occupy their time. Of course, for some, being a Walmart employee would certainly fit the bill.

I’ve noticed the last couple of years that the greeters no longer greet, but chit-chat with other employees.

As a retired Engineering Manager, Wally World would be a relief, I am old, single, and don’t need the money, I got enough already. I think that a discount on purchases might be nice.
What was the answer? I need to know if I ever have problems with my carburetor. ;-)
Your joke reminds me of a Democrat state governor, Orval Faubus, who came out second-best in a historic contest with a retired five-star and, after encountering financial difficulties in retirement, ended up working as a bank teller.

Obama figures he has the hispanic La Raza / MEchA vote locked up and needs to make democrats feel safer in areas with lots of illegals still taking jobs of the many more now laid-off honest American workers
Obama’s problems will be increasingly mucho worso in CA and FL where blacks are getting more in conflict with hispanics - esp. illegal aliens that contribute greatly to the 50% plus unemployment rates of urban - and now even rural blacks
Obama had and still has a solid 97% of the black vote in his back pocket -
Can he afford to now lose some pecentage of American hispanic voters - with the young and the independent voters who voted for him in 2008 now turning 66% against him? I do not see that situation improving as more HS and college grads find no jobs available - and middle class workers wise up as their unemployment bennies and savings run out and they start going to Food Banks - to stand in long lines behind blacks and hispanics?
Is a puzzlement.....
