A decorated active duty Army medical officer, Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin (selected for promotion to Colonel), is calling upon his chain of command and his Congressional delegation to force President Obama to release his original birth certificate. He is the highest ranking officer to go public over this controversy and in late February, was notified that he is subject to near-term deployment to Afghanistan.
His military orders include a requirement that he provide "copies of his birth certificate." LTC Lakin is prepared to provide a certified copy of his certification of vital record that lists his birth hospital, physician's name and other key information. He has provided this document for many other required processes, such as his commissioning into the military as an officer, and his marriage license.

I don’t think the doctor will win,it just proves the eligiblity issue will not die.And while I’m willing to give Pres. Obama the benefit of the doubt,it does mystify me that he will not allow the release of a simple piece of paper

Her name is Captain Connie Rhodes, and she is a Army doctor. Orly Taitz was her lawyer and the case was thrown out of court for several reasons, one of which was that the judge questioned why she brought suit only when she was facing deployment. Taitz later filed papers on Rhodes' behalf which Rhodes said she neither signed nor approved.
When her case was thrown out of Judge Land's court, she reported for duty and shipped off to Iraq.
This is the case that got Taitz her $10,000 fine, later supersized to $20,000.
The case which sort of fits what you wrote was the case of Major Stefan Frederick Cook. He was an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (reserve) and could revoke his request to deploy at any time. The Army considered his lawsuit a request to revoke and his order was revoked. He was working for a company which was contracted to the Army and the Army said that they no longer wanted him assigned to their contracts. So, he wasn't deployed, and he lost his job because his employer had no use for someone who couldn't work on military contracts.
His attorney was Orly Taitz, too.

I know I had to show something along those lines when I joined, but I have no idea what they did with it, and they cut my orders without any fanfare.

My dad, an American citizen, was in the American army in Germany. His wife, my mom, an American citizen, was with him. I was born in a German hospital. No American ones available. My birth certificate is on record with the U.S. State Dept.
I am, and always have been, an American citizen. There was never any of this dual citizenship nonsense. As far as I know, and I’ve never been told different, I’m considered a natural born citizen.
Uh, that’s the recruiter. Has nothing to do with orders.
