Republican
N.M. Lt. Governor
51% Reporting

Sanchez - 40%

Cravens - 30%

Moore - 30%

It looks like Sanchez. Will he be able to mesh with Susana.

Alabama:

James, Byrnes and Bentley are all conservative, and are in a three-way for the run off election in July. Roy Moore is not going to make it.

Young Boozer won his race by beating Geroge Wallace, Junior!

On the democrat side, Artur Davis, the Obama-look-and-sound-alike, has lost to the frumpy white liberal Ron Sparks.

“When Judge Moore again fails to win a Republican nomination, it shows that conservatism is pretty dead in AL.”

Roy Moore brings nothing but the 10 Commandments issue to the race. On other issues, he is quickly over his head.

Going to turn in. Keep the thread humming along. Still a lot of stuff that’s undecided.

Wow, bentley just went from third into first with a 4000 vote lead with 76% reporting. Second place is Byrne with a TEN vote lead over James - 94975 to 94965

Oh, and on the above, the total (so far) votes cast for Republicans in the governor race is 300,000, and for the dem’s about 206,000. So I think we have an excellent shot of keeping the governor’s mansion in the R column. Too bad the governor is such a weak postion in this state (legislature only needs a simple majority to override a governor’s veto).

John’s a businessman. Was the sacrificial Republican to run against Richardson in 2006. Pro-life, NRA endorsement. They will make a great pair but Susana is the dynamic one.

Pretty amazing victory considering that Weh is rich and spent lots of his own money on the campaign. Susana’s race was paid for by individual donations. Channel 7 says she won or is leading in every county in NM!

Looks like Troy Kings spat with Gov. Riley has cost him the AG position. Strange just declared the winner and has over 60% of the vote.

These connections Palin’s making are at this point more important than fund raising. At this point in the game she’ll need allies who can be her voice during a campaign. That’s important and show’s she is serious.

The downside is she’s light in the pants otherwise - money & experience.

Governor Martinez Sarah backed another good one

Last week in a poll against the Democratic candidate, Diane Denish, Susana was slightly ahead. With this big win (<51%) the donations will come in and she will take it to Denish! There is a very good chance NM will have a Republican governor come this fall.

Sanchez was the Gov candidate in 2002, not 2006. John Dendahl was the sacrificial lamb in ‘06.

Local news reported a very low turn out today in the four Mississippi districts where primaries were held.

Childers must be defeated in the general. He voted against the final healthcare bill. He was inundated with email and phone calls.
