Saudi Arabia Gives Israel Clear Skies To Attack Iranian Nuclear Sites
The Times ^ | June 12, 2010

Posted on 06/11/2010 6:01:40 PM PDT by Strategy

Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defences to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran's nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal.

In the week that the UN Security Council imposed a new round of sanctions on Tehran, defence sources in the Gulf say that Riyadh has agreed to allow Israel to use a narrow corridor of its airspace in the north of the country to shorten the distance for a bombing run on Iran.

To ensure the Israeli bombers pass unmolested, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom's air defences will return to full alert.

"The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way," said a US defence source in the area. "They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren't scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department."

Just a question: WHY is this on the ‘net???

Consider that it might be misinformation.

“Thanks, because I have been saying that all along and no one would listen. Also F-16’s and F-15’s do not have the lift capability for the size of bunker buster they would need to penetrate these facilities IMO. The B-52 and the B-1 could do it but they’ll need stealth and means the B-2. Of course they dont have anything like that.”

Of course they don’t. But ... ;-)

Saudis are more afraid of Iran then even Israel.

That's cause they know what Israel is really like and they know what muslims are really like.

It's very telling when even muslims trust Israel over each other.

If they don't trust each other, why should anyone else?

Not really. The saudis hate everyone else, but they especially don’t like the shiites. They consider them heretics to Islam.

Saudi Arabia firmly believes that a nutcase with nukes is a threat to them .....

Of course they do. They're in between the two countries. One missile goes off course, guess who could be the target.

They know which side is trustworthy and has precision equipment.

My take on the Saudis is that the situation there is much more complex. The “they” in S. Arabia is the house of Saud, the royal family. They are in a precarious position. They run the show, no doubt, but they have to deal with the radical Islamists - much like Egypt, Jordan and the other “moderate” Arab countries. The way the Saudis have chosen to do this is by pure appeasement. They provide support and succor to the Wahabbis, and they are recognized as the “custodians of the holy mosques” (Mecca et al). The faustian bargain they’ve made is the hope that the radical Islamists will keep their Allah Akbar stuff outside the Kingdom. Doesn’t always happen that way, of course, as there is a relatively robust Islamic “terrorist” activity level within the Kingdom.

Now, pertaining to Iran, the Saudis are indeed (IMHO) absolutely petrified of an hegemonic, powerful Iran. Iran’s the Shias and they’re not Arabs, but Persians. Saudis of course are Sunnis. Oceans of blood have been spilled over the centuries between these 2 major torch bearers of the “religion of peace”. Throw in a nuclear armed Iran and you’ve got the Saudis’ worst nightmare. They’ve lived quite well with the Jews having hundreds of nuclear warheads. They rightly don’t lose any sleep at night worrying about crazed Judaists nuking Riyadh or Jeddah or the oil fields. Ahmedinijad and his cronies, however, do probably cause the Sauds to lose a lot of sleep.

Frankly, I strongly believe that the Saudis would like nothing better than the Israelis taking out Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It’s a win-win for the Saudis: they get rid of their #1 threat in the region and they also get to blast the Jooooos in the UN and world press. Would be a great day for them!!!

Interestingly, heard some fellow the other night on Coast to Coast talking about the recent Bilderberg meeting. His take was that the “one world govt” folks at Bilderberg have had their plans stalled - primarily by the popular uprising against the debt and socialist/communist tilting of western govts. He noted that, in these situations, they always default to a war. Diverts attention and fury away from the domestic govt and builds support for the otherwise unpopular president/prime minister. As such, his prediction was that the “green light” has been given for an attack on Iran. I know it sounds tin-foil crazy, but recent developments (such as recent report about US carrier groups being diverted to the region) make you scratch your head. And, no one really has any love for the Iranian regime. And, if I’m Barry, I would try to leverage this strategically with the Israelis to get a Palestinian settlement (even at lousy terms for the Israelis). In this scenario, Barry gets a war against an enemy that everyone recognizes is a really bad actor; conceivably, can get this without direct US military involvement (Israelis do the dirty work); as such, has no real direct recrimination potential; gets support from the American population going into what is shaping up to otherwise be a midterm election disaster of historic proportion; and, possibly gets an “historic” settlement of the Israeli-Palesitinan conflict (and Barry is thus the great peacemaker). Sounds crazy, but stranger things have happened...

I know sometimes countries release information for a variety of reasons .. but for the life of me I cannot figure out why this information would be released .. unless it was leaked by somebody who didn’t want Israel to succeed.

I mean .. doesn’t this information tell the enemy which way to be expecting you ..?? .. or .. is that the reason it was released .. to misinform on purpose ..??

Hmmmm ..?? I Can’t decide.

How are these nations lining up in light of Bible prophecy?

= = =

I think GiovannaNicoletta and others are keeping better track of that, than I am.

Certainly I think the Biblically mentioned nations to come against Israel in a variety of ways and incidents are all lining up accordingly.

It is quite plausible that the first Ezek Gog/Magog war could happen sooner than some think.

I would say that the Psalm 83 war will probably happen first before the Ezekiel 38/39 war. I say that because it appears that Israel is living in relative peace (apparently from the result of the Psalm 83 war) from what we see of the Ezekiel 38/39 war.

I would be looking for the Psalm 83 war first ...

I don't know what to believe. I know the Saudis, the Egyptians, and Pakistan worked with Israel before in defeating the Soviets in Afghanistan. Sometimes I think it's hard for some of these more worldly and educated middle east leaders to have to deal with very backward and indoctrinated populations.

So many centuries have called the Middle East the land of intrigue, as if that is some romantic adventure poster for tourists to flock to. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but those friendships don't last, and cannot be trusted.

The Saudi's do not need to see radical Islam flourish as it is a danger to their own rule. Neither does Pakistan as it is a danger to theirs also. All these nations have been strange bed fellows with Israel before, but it doesn't mean they won't turn on Israel in a heart beat if they find a weakness.

It is the most dangerous and unpredictable area in the world.

You were saying ...

Taquiya.

I know that's a real factor with Islam (as you indicate) -- but in this case, there's another big factor in Islam -- and that's the fact that the Sunnis hate the Shiites. So, in this case, it sounds exactly what the Sunnis would do to the Shiites ... :-)
