New Jersey Politicians Want A List of NRA Members and their Employers!

Friday, June 11, 2010

In a blatant attempt by entrenched New Jersey politicians to strong arm citizens who oppose their re-election, Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (D-14) and her co-sponsors have introduced legislation which would require certain contributors to “issue advocacy organizations”, including the NRA, to have their names, addresses and their employers information sent to the government.

A2595, if passed, will mandate that any “issue advocacy organization” classified under IRS Code as a 501(C) (3), 501 (C) (4) or 527 that engages in the election or defeat of any person to State or local elective office; the passage or defeat of any public question; or that provides political information on any candidate, must submit the names and addresses of contributors and their employers to the Election Law Enforcement Commission.

Not only is Assemblywoman Greenstein (D-14) the prime sponsor of A2595, but she is also the Chair of the committee that will hear the bill. The Assembly Judiciary Committee will hear the bill on Monday, June 14th at 10:00 am.

A2595 is a shameless attempt to intimidate citizens who engage in the legislative and political process.

Please contact your Assemblymembers today and urge him or her to oppose A2595!

Linda R. Greenstein (D-14)- Chair

Fourth Amendment to the Constitution for the United States:

I don't know how Jersey law is, but that's current law for PACs in most states and the federal government for mid size and large contributors.

There's a movement to change it to the "issue ad" organizations as well, and be much more intrusive. That's NRA's concern, and for good reason. People don't like giving that information out. Some of us have two jobs, one being a part time side business. Guess which employer I put down.

add this to the crazed congressman grabbing students and demanding “who are you?”. Add that to Joe the plumber. This is a clear stalinist/stasi trend.

If they travel this route, they should be most careful. That route is well known in world history. People of their ilk have done this to poor Russian peasants circa 1920,, and to backwards asian nations. They did it to Europeans who possessed no mentality that THEY control the government, and are never “subjects”.

It hasn’t really been tried against the descendants of Madison, Washington, Jefferson et al. The statist left is on a most dangerous path. The day it is ok to target a citizen, personally, then it would logically follow that the same hold true for the politician. This is un-american to begin the intimidation of the citizenry,, personally.

Yeah, we should probably get rid of that anachronistic secret ballot thingie too. Who knows what trouble those serfs might get into in that little booth, with no one to watch over and protect them?

Wheeee!!! I “hope” they pass this. Wait until you hear the explosion from LEFTIST groups who will also have to list their membership and donor lists.”

Of course you realize that in order to drive the point home, we are going to have to hold a few very ACORN like, Saul Alinsky style protests at a few of their homes...

Isn’t it amazing how the Dems are all about protecting privacy, but only when in conjunction with abortion or gay rights?

Unconstitutional.

Which, of course, doesn’t matter to democrats (and some republicans).

That’s putting it mildly.
