Source: Administration Weighs Bypassing Congress to Let Illegal Immigrants Stay

The Obama administration has been holding behind-the-scenes talks to determine whether the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants, a former Bush administration official who spoke with at least three people involved in those talks told FoxNews.com.

The Obama administration has been holding behind-the-scenes talks to determine whether the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants, a former Bush administration official who spoke with at least three people involved in those talks told FoxNews.com.

The issue was raised publicly by eight Republican senators who wrote to the White House on Monday to complain that they had heard the administration was readying a "Plan B" in case a comprehensive immigration reform bill cannot win enough support to clear Congress.

The White House would not confirm or deny the claim. But the former Bush official said the discussions are real.

Indeed. BLOAT... and try to set some resources aside for production of
trade-items, like food, water, and/or alcohol.

It is certainly interesting... in the Chinese sense of the word.
This mass-amnesty is one of the things I’ve thought would certainly
spark off a second civil war.

I disagree, I have as much ammo as I could afford for such an eventuality.

In addition, all the states that agree should hurry up and adopt the AZ illegal immigrant law - and make it stronger; make it more like the media has advertised it to be. Enforce it aggressively and get as many illegals out of the country as quickly as possible. Get state militia on the border and stop the flow by whatever means necessary.

If they manage to pass amnesty or sneak it in through some agency, make sure the number of illegals is as low as possible. What to do about California, I don’t know. I do know that they are endangering more than just their own state when they allow an open border and other states should have a problem with that and a plan to deal with it.

It’s late in the game, but it’s not too late until amnesty is in place. It’s worth trying!

County election offices do not verify citizenship.

The most they ask for is a social security number. And these numbers are not cross referenced. The election offices leave it to the electorate to challenge voter registrations, else they are allowed to remain on the voter rolls.

Here’s how the fraud works. ACORN and other dem union hacks forge/fabricate voter registrations after having taken instructions from higher level political analysts. The dem war rooms target districts that must be won, and they focus on how many registrations need to be ‘signed up’.

The problem is that the fraudulent registrations done by hand are cumbersome, they need not thousands but hundreds of thousands to grab power.

And get this, they do not need to show up at the polls to get the fraud votes in, they work the fraud through the election offices where they have key moles that will make appear sacks and sacks of voter ballots, for voters that do not exist, or are not citizens. Election office moles in the mail rooms (where absentee ballots are recieved) are known to be convicts on parole, or former convicts.

Note that the unions control the dem party and the government unions are managed by dem lawyers. Now connect the dots with the convicts in the election office mail rooms, the union hacks and dem lawyers in government, and you have a picture of how they operate.

But the work is in the voter registrations, they need a computerized system to get the hundreds of thousands or even millions of registrations manufactured.

An elderly dem lawyer that I knew earlier this decade when he was alive confided in me proudly that one of the most powerful people in the world that he knew in the 60s and who lived in NYC was able to singlehandedly produce seven million voters.

So they get the illegals to auto register at DMVs via motor-voter. At the DMV counters, the info on the illegal is entered both into a license database and automatically into the voter registration database. Proof of citizenship is not asked for and there are laws against requiring proof because such laws might be considered ‘discriminatory’.

Impeach and remove now!

Arrest, with an immediate trial for treason, deport at best. Our leaders need to stop playing politics with this criminal dictator. . . while we can.

The funny thing is that it does nothing for the people who jumped the border. Does way more to legalize OTMs.

By what rule of law, or policy, could the DHS possibly grant Amnesty to illegals? Exactly how much power has been granted this bureaucratic entity?

How bout executive order? Could he subvert the rule law this way?

Like you, I think McCain will probably win his primary. But I also believe that the illegal issue has become a much more powerful issue than it was in 2006 or '08.

Anything you'd like to offer as evidence in support of the power of the issue? I'll offer up the 2008 election as proof of its insignificance as a Presidential/National issue.

How about the paucity of border heroes as US Senator or Gov or other statewide seat. Governor Brewer is a rare exception and even she was hesitant in signing the AZ immigration law.

The number 2 on the top 10 border team drops down to a congressman. In May 1999, CO Congressman Tancredo founded the House Immigration Reform Caucus. He's been in the forefront of this issue for a long time. Tancredo could have run unopposed for the CO GOP Gov nomination in 04. As Governor he would be in a position to set an example for the rest of the country. Instead he is taking in 8 million dollars during his spectacularly failed run for Prez, and Lord only knows at Team America PAC, doing tea party speeches and calling for literacy tests at polls...the longer it takes to resolve the issue...the more money Tank rakes in. Ay carumba!

Here is what Tancredo said in late Dec of 07 when he quit running for Prez before he really even started...but after collecting MILLION$ of sucker money

I could not stand by and let open border politicians and corporate lobbyists sell our country out to the highest bidder. Then earlier this year when I feared that the issue would not be championed by any of the top candidates I threw my hat in the ring. It was the only way I could be certain that the candidates would be forced to take a stand.

Thanks to your incredible support look what we have accomplished: Just last week Newsweek declared that "Anti-immigrant zealot [that would be me] had already won. Now even Dems dance to his no mas salsa tune. " This month alone The Economist, the New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal and a score of other newspapers have written similar assessments, grudgingly crediting our campaign with forcing the issue of immigration to the center of the national stage and -- more importantly -— with forcing every presidential candidate to commit themselves to an immigration plan that calls for securing the borders, opposing amnesty and enforcing the law.

Of course, many of the candidates need to be pinned down on their understanding of the meaning of amnesty, but we have succeeded beyond my most optimistic expectations of a year ago. We even have Hillary jumping through hoops on the issue! So with so much success why drop out of the race now, you are probably asking. For one reason and one reason alone: I believe the cause demands I do so. The presidential campaign has come down to less than a handful of viable candidates.

Unfortunately several of them have abysmal records on immigration and can’t be trusted to do what is needed to preserve this country if they’re elected. My fear is that if I were to stay in this race my votes could be the factor in handing victory to a pro-amnesty politician. Friends, we have done too much, come too far and the stakes are too high to play that hand. And so I am ending my presidential campaign. I know there are many more battles in our future and you can count on me to stay in this fight with you. We must continue to build the unquestioned momentum that is fueling our movement today.

With 2% of the vote and a seventh place embarassment in the Ft Lauderdale FL straw poll, the Tanc knew his job was done and endorsed border security legend Mitt Romney...How do people swallow this? Just 5 weeks later Tanc was calling McCain a traitor when it was becoming clear that McCain was gonna win the nomination. And a year later???

"Thank God John McCain lost the election"
"Ditto" - Barry Soetoro

Up until Gov Brewer, Tanc was the standard bearer. What is he now and who has taken up his mantle? It wasn't Randy Graf, JD Hayworth, John Hostettler, Chris Chocola, Anne Northup, Melissa Hart, Bob Beauprez, Charles Taylor, Gil Gutknecht, Richard Pombo, Rick Santorum, Tom Kean, Katherine Harris, or Jan Ting.

It could be Gov Brewer if she wins an election as Gov for the first time in Nov 2010. Time will tell.

If Americans are clamoring for secure borders and stepped up deportations why can't a pro-border zealot rise to the level of US Senator or Governor, or GOP Presidential nominee? Why are they almost all from tiny congressional districts, or sheriffs, talk radio, or having no visible means of support like Alan Keyes or Jim Gilchrist?

The border jumpers will be really surprised when they find out that this will not apply to them. Almost half of all illegals never jumped a fence or swam a river.

We are headed for a Constitutional crisis , and that is the good news . The bad news is the crisis will almost certainly be averted by the repugnicans caving on Supreme Court nominees and the national-socialists will have total control .

The good news is soon Mexicans will no longer be crossing into the US . The bad news is the reason they have stopped is that the conditions here will be exactly the same as in Mexico .

I believe this may happen depending on how bad the mid-term losses are for the democrats. If they are about to be removed from power Obama will pull this amnesty stunt during the lame duck session while he still has his lapdog congress intact. That event will cause major hell to break loose throughout the country giving Obama the apparent justification to declare martial law. During that period most of the newly elected members of congress will be falsely accused of fomenting unrest, and they will be arrested for sedition and conspiracy against the United States. Therefore, no new congress and obama, pelosi, reid, and company keep marching on.
