That’s kinda what I said on another thread. Everyone knows by now that BOOR is going to interupt and be obnoxious.

Therefore, it is best to have some very short concise points to make quickly, otherwise your position will not be heard nor understood.

With BOR it’s impossible. I just saw the interview and he was condescending as hell. She couldn’t complete her thoughts because he would just jump in and try to repeat himself. His tone of voice was also insulting, to say the least. She handled it as best she could, without physically choking this pompous idiot.

It ain’t rocket science, is it?

How serious are we about maintaining our sovereignty?

This is the nation that rescued europe from 2 world wars and faced down the soviet union.

Piece of cake.

I think your biases are getting in the way of fair and clear thinking. True, BOR really didn't let her speak and kept on interrupting her.  Sarah should develop the skills to get her message across clearly and briefly in these types of forums, since that is a key to getting her message across.  She must work on that and not let the BOR's of the world run their mouths, suck up the air, and step on her speaking time.

Indeed, you note that you would like to see and hear some evidence that she is doing some serious policy formation, but clearly you haven't looked at her book where she does get into some serious policy formation.  Maybe you should have a stronger commitment to finding out how she thinks about various issues and policies, given that you desperately want to take her seriously.

Just read her book - you don't even have to buy it, as it is available at a library near you.

OK, going to bed, I'm playing tennis tomorrow.

Nighty night, Onyx.

I saw BoR promo this segment, but I was busy at the time, I changed the channel and then missed it. I don't like BoR anyway.

I was figuring SP would take a safe position on this as in the past, no specifics. It's a issue that a specific position would get lots of people mad either way. Lots of Republicans like Bush/McCain supporters are for amnesty; Krauthammer and Kristol are for it too (Ann Coulter recently commented on Kristal LOL). 'Registration' is another code-word for amnesty. So I wouldnt be surprised if Palin was for amnesty. Personally I think amnesty would be a complete disaster as most of you do too.

On the positive side SP came out in support of Arizona immediately when other Republicans were still checking the wind direction and we knew it was right.

Lest I be viewed as anti-hispanic- I am not. Where I live there is a rich Mexican heritage; people who have worked for the railroad and built patriotic neighborhoods/commmunities and been citizens for a hundred years. People with hispanic surnames many of whom don’t speak Spanish.

I only know a few words of Dutch.

Somewhere along the line we became Americans. We value the American system.

"So you've closed the borders, now you have ten million people sitting here looking at you, what are you going to do about them?"

Eliminate their jobs and gov't handouts and tell them which way south is.

Sounds just like what her pal McCain is saying. At least until after the election.

Attrition thru enforcement is the answer. Palin has never backed away from her pro-amnesty position as described in her Univision interview.

From comment #18.

VAN SUSTEREN: Both parties have made promises. I mean, we pull up sound bites where, you know, both sides, you know, Democrat, Republicans, say, you know, Secure the border, secure the border. And then once in office, we certainly don’t see a whole lot of action. Had the election gone another way, or even if you were president, what would you do about immigration?
PALIN: The very first thing is literally secure the border!
VAN SUSTEREN: How?
PALIN: People mock the idea of a fence. What’s wrong with building a fence? Yes, let’s physically secure the border. Let’s ramp up border control. Let’s provide the tools for those who are putting their lives on the line in order to stop illegal immigration of these aliens. Those are a couple of things.
And then you don’t start talking about amnesty, either, kind of as this last-minute, Oh, anybody who’s here in the country right now, we’re going to provide you amnesty, and even though you’ve broken the law and we are a nation of laws, you’ve broken that, we’ll still give you — because then there’s going to be a huge influx of those wanting kind of at the last minute to come over the border because they know that they will forever then receive that amnesty.
So you don’t start talking about that, but the very first thing you do is physically, literally secure those borders. It baffles me and most Americans why for all these years presidents, administrations have spoken about it but never done it.

I think you were trying to say, "she couldn't get a word IN EDGEWISE", right?

It depends on what the meaning of amnesty is. In her famous Univision interview, Palin said the following:

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?

Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?

Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

Where does Palin say that she is against allowing the 12 to 20 million illegals from staying and working here, i.e., an amnesty? She says nothing about deporting them or attrition thru enforcement. She has been playing word games with this issue. And the clearest indication of what she favors is still the Univision interview. She has never backed away from it.

O’Reilly seems to have a real problem with Sarah Palin. Perhaps he fears she will become the #1 star at FNC, which his ego cannot handle.

Obviously, he had an ambush set up tonight.

First, he gives her a difficult question and keeps interrupting her in mid-sentence.

Then he has two women he knows will trash her - a liberal and Dana Pirino from the RINO (Bush-Romney) wing of the GOP.

McCain's 2010 position on immigration is not what his 2007 policy was (probably because he is seeking reelection, probably partially because things have gotten so much worse in the past three years). He currently says deportations may be necessary.
