That’s a picture from 10/2 at D.C. isn’t it?

Actually, there are oil and gas deposits not far from there. On the shore of Lake Erie every farm has an oil well, and there are gas wells in the middle of Lake Erie. There’s also a huge salt cavern under Lake Huron.

Yes, the indian mounds. Some are/were huge. There are lots of unknowns underground up there.

They should be happy it’s in the back yard, and not in the basement...

This is a cool story.

There are things going on miles down in the earth. If a million cubic yards of whatever decides to relocate down there... Things happen up here.

It would suck in spades if that happened in my yard.

Good possibility.

That region is still in flux as the lakes drain.

I’ll back the shallow earth movement along the Niagara Escarpment due to recent heavy rains that is presented by
“kanawa”. If you look at the Google Maps for the Birch Creek area you will see the semi-circluar land forms of the escarpment. This escarpment runs all the way down into Wisconsin and can been seen very well at Sussex Wisconsin were the Niagarian limestone is mined in very large quaries. The limestone dips under the State of Michigan in an anticline structure that next appears at Niagara Falls, hence the name of the escarpment and limestone.

I’ll go with Guam is tipping over...and there are really long tendrils that reach all the way to the Michigan UP. Look at the photo. The trees are tipping away from each other at their tops. That is proof that the western edge is tipping over and it is following Guam.

I dunno, but I don’t think it’s wise to be stomping around the edge of the crack. Time to call the insurance company and a moving van.

Maybe it’s the gates of Hell opening up. Reminds me of all those old movies of homes being built over ancient graveyards. It’s baaaaack!

"I don't know really. It just looks like a giant crack in the ground,"

I may not be a geological scientist but I'd have to agree with that guy..........(I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express hotel last night tho...)
