They don't care.

Now they get their "public option," which was the plan all along.

"The Constitution neither grants Congress nor the President the power to compel every American to buy government-approved health insurance."

How about Social Security?

There will be no public option if the GOP finds its nads.

Social Security is really a payroll tax and not a retirement plan. You’re not guaranteed to draw anything from it. The rules can be changed at any time by a Congress.

What do we need a Congress for when we can have rule from the bench?

We’ve already had that case fought in the Supreme Court and FDR insisted that SSI was NOT insurance, that it was a welfare program and that payments made by citizens to SSI were taxes, not insurance premiums. FDR won. He had his administration make this arguement to the Court while at the SAME time he was selling SSI to the public as old age insurance!

I'm trying to understand the implications here. It seems the whole scheme falls apart without the ability to coerce people to buy any insurance.

Any elaboration would be greatly appreciated.

Also, during the daily Q&A Fibbs said several states have already upheld the article which the VA court struck down. If true, this is only one victory in several attempts. According to the White House anyway.

Can anyone validate?

In their haste, they did not put in a severance clause. If any part of the bill is ultimately found to be unconstitutional,,, the whole bill dies. Maybe they should have read the bill.

ObamaCare penalties are really a tax and not a health insurance plan. You’re not guaranteed to draw anything from it.

“Fibbs said several states have already upheld the article which the VA court struck down.”

Then a conflict between lower courts will eventually need to be resolved by the Supreme court.

If anyone had any doubts as to whether DeMint is going to run in 2012, he’s doing his best to quell them.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli made a compelling case that Obamacare violated the constitutional rights of Americans by forcing them into a government program against their will.

Are they talking about zerocare or SS?
