RIP
May he truly rest in peace and know the presence of Christ.
The first time I read that in a book was 1969.I was 10 years old and I have never forgotten those words.RIP
My Dad when he was alive loved to reminisce every Dec 7th about what he was doing on Dec 7, 1941 and how it led him into the war. I used to call him up every Dec 7th and ask him the question, he got a kick out of telling the story all over again.
I asked my father-in-law what he was doing on Dec. 7th, and he said, “Getting bombed by the Japanese” in Hawaii.
Asked him what his last military campaign was in WW2, and he said “Iwo”.
The “Greatest Generation”, followed by new “Greatest Generations” - Korea, Vietnam, Gulf I and OIF/Afghanistan.
Great Americans all!
