Radon actually can be a problem if you have a tightly built house. Having a detector is not a bad idea. Having your home tested is generally not worth the money because the levels can vary from safe to unsafe in just a few weeks.

The thorium reactor can be used to produce hydrogen (by electrolysis of water). The hydrogen can then be used as a vehicle (aircraft or automobile) fuel. A zero carbon solution.

I don't remember how many miles per gallon, as it's been a while, but my sister's pastor's son bought a truck that amazingly got far more miles per gallon than it was suppose to. He was naive enough to tell the car people about it. Soon the Federal Government showed up at his door step and confiscated the truck. True story, the pastor's son being a very normal, average type of fellow who doesn't have a reputation as one who would make up stories. His parents also being very solid people knew about it.
