Don’t forget the medicaid tax. Of course, I am expecting that to be rescinded once Obama Care comes in to full play. LOL

it seems that this country on every level now is divided and it seems the north and the south , midwest are totally different countries to up there.

Yet again another judge rules and has no clue what he is on about.

employees are being asked to pay for a benefit they might never receive...

Wow...like me paying SS I will never see again...I am conflicted as to whether this is a good or bad ruling.

Insurance policies do not guarantee benefits, Mr. Judge.

Exactly, remove it entirely and the problem is gone. They will be beating down the door to pay the 3% then.

Exactly, a bought and paid for judge appointed by a bought and paid for leftist. These unions who buy themselves whatever they want and own people in govt to do it need to go down inflames. How about all non-unions have their own gatherings with coffins and prayers for the dead unions! Let these extortionists fade away to some third world place where the govts won’t tolerate their crap.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here. This 3 percent is a tax on current workers who are being charged for the retirees insurance. This is above and beyond what the current workers already pay toward their own insurance.

So what? This is still another incident of a lone curcuit court judge imposing his will on an entire state legislature.

Are the taxpayers currently paying taxes into a fund for retired teachers’ health insurance? is there some reason why they won’t be dumped onto Medicare? Or is this like social security in that they would pay the 3% and maybe get the insurance, maybe not?

So what? Many of the comments were not about the judge but about the issue itself.

This ruling should start a small fire on social security. If so, great!

Like SS and Medicare? This is huge.

What we are witnessing is an uprising of the ruling class.

I fear that the Governor will be arrested on trumped up charges soon.

What is beyond speculation is the undisputed fact that the Legislature has the unfettered power to change or eliminate all benefits.”

If that be the case, I'd suggest the legislature work 24/7 to make it so. Dump the health insurance completely. The union can negotiate with a private carrier.

This is a very liberal judge the unions always run to in order to obtain a pro-union ruling. The appeals court is much more conservative as well as the Michigan Supreme Court. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this ruling reversed on appeal.

Can’t the Wisconsin Legislature cut the judicial branch’s funding by the amount needed to fund the teacher’s retirement health insurance?

If the health care benefit isn’t guaranteed then drop it altogether.
