Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Mitt Romney as a Republican presidential candidate?
Bug Zapper ^ | May 19, 2011 | Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy Massachusetts liberal can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

How about Rick Perry, the “anti-Romney”, in my opinion. Perry could beat Romney AND could beat Obama.

Jim,

As the founder of the site, what are your thoughts on Gov. Perry of Texas...?

I personally don't trust him, I think he's a globalist (Trans-Texas corridor) and an elitist (forced HPV vaccinations for 12-year-olds), but if you decree he's acceptable, I will lay off my sniping on *this* site.

Cheers!

Recycled or not - the message is just as important now as when first posted!

No to Romney!

Unequivocally NO! I would rather vote for the Objectivist Party Candidate (http://objectivistparty.us/6401.html) just to make a point and suffer through another 4 years. Obama’s power will be further reduced with more victories in both houses. It may cost us another Supreme Justice nomination, but I am willing to take that risk and not compromise.

With so many other REAL conservatives, why even consider Romney?

I would ONLY vote for Romney if NO OTHER Conservative could be nominated. (And I wouldn’t be liking it)

Here's my ongoing list of who's either in the pool or toe-dipping. I left out a couple of candidates that are obvious jokes like the gay rights activist from California. Several others are probably not acceptable but I don't know enough about them to put them in red yet.

Michele Bachmann
Haley Barbour
John Bolton
Herman Cain
Mitch Daniels
Newt Gingrich
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
Jon Huntsman, Jr.
Gary Johnson
Thad McCotter
Roy Moore
Sarah Palin
Ron Paul
Tim Pawlenty
Rick Perry
Buddy Roemer
Willard Romney
Rick Santorum
Donald Trump

*Candidates in red are in the "I can't get drunk enough to vote for them" category.

There’s a lot I can grudgingly accept for the GOP, as almost anyone is a better alternative than Obama.

Almost.

Romney goes beyond the pale for me. Aside from the fact that he’s a flip-flopping opportunist more interested in his own aggrandizement than anything else, the fact is, even when he tries to act “conservative”, it’s clear that he has no concept of what it means.

I simply cannot trust him, and to some degree, an Obama checked by a Republican Congress and Senate would be preferable, or at least, not so much of a disaster as would make Romney acceptable.

On top of all of this, the supposedly “electable” Romney is in my opinion the only potential GOP candidate who cannot beat Obama under any reasonable circumstances. Romney simply takes too many of Obama’s negatives out of play.

You have it right Jim. Mitt is “Da Boy” for the RINOs and career politicians in the Republican party. He was selected and groomed for the position two years ago.

It’s time that we look to form a new party simply because the Republican party has become so entrenched with the political parasites that it is dying and is totally unconcerned with that fact. New blood simply resupplies the parasites.

In reality, we have no party to represent what is left of true Americans. This is our last gasp for holding on to freedom and if we are so possessed as to think that the Republican party can be fixed, we are certainly doomed to become a nation that was never planned nor contemplated.

Thanks for posting your thoughts.

Mr. Robinson, we are entering the post political phase of our republic. The solution to re-establish the republic that our founders gave us will not be found in DC. One day, we will all see what is right in front of our eyes, it is really like 1860 all over again. Do we live in a Free Republic or not? Will we have the courage of our convictions? I hope so. I hope I live long enough to see it. Appomattox resolved nothing.

No, I don't think anyone here (with any frequency) really will support another RINO weenie like Mitt. However, once the smoke clears after the nomination convention and if the conservative faction within the Pubbies fails to nominate a sound conservative, then BO will take a second term because conservatism has outgrown Bill Buckley's dictum to vote for the most conservative, viable candidate. We no longer wish to go along to get along and we're no longer willing to wage pragmatic politics when the stakes are this high. Whatever the outcome of the nomination convention and the 2012 election, we will have a sound conservative in the White House who will wage the fight to re-establish American truth and values, or we will have four years in which the Left will go hell-bent-for-leather to drive their agenda home and wipe out our national identity. If we prevail, good. If not, then that is when the real fight will begin.

I expect you to vote for, and publicly endorse and support the election of Sarah Palin. Did Mitt Romney ever shake your hand or give you a big kiss on the cheek?

Is our line up so thin that we really have to worry about Romney? Who, then, will be our white knight? If being a rock ribbed conservative was all it took then I could be president. Who can actually win against the news media and Obama's $1 Billion campaign?
