A Salt Lake City woman has been charged with offering her 13-year-old daughter's virginity to a man for $10,000.
The 32-year-old woman was charged Monday in Utah's 3rd District Court with two first-degree felony counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child and two second-degree felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
If convicted, the woman faces a lifetime prison sentence for each first-degree felony and a zero to 15 year sentence for each second-degree felony.
In court papers, prosecutors allege that the woman had discussed letting her daughter perform oral sex and other sex acts with an adult male. The negotiated offer and an arrangement to exchange the teen's virginity for money were detailed in a string of text messages which were seen by the woman's boyfriend, who called police, court papers say.
In a police affidavit also filed with the court, investigators say the woman acknowledged the agreement and said she and the girl had been modeling lingerie for the man in a local store and at their home near the Utah State Capitol. Investigators say the woman said she had also taken pictures of her daughter wearing only a bra and skimpy, thong underwear and sent them to another adult male.

Last night I had a nightmare about my daughter. In my dream, she kissed a boy that was bad news.
How ANY mother could think of much less do such a thing is beyond my comprehension!!!
Some women have gone so slutty and are so open about it they don’t even realize how others see what they do is wrong.
That attitude coupled with the thought of paying off her credit cards or a new used car for something her daughter will be giving away for free soon anyway and its not even a question of right or wrong for them anymore.
According to the article, the woman only "discussed" the arrangment - but never had the daughter actually perform any acts, so how does that lead to:

It's sick beyond belief, but merely discussing it is now aggravated sex abuse of a child / sexual exploitation?

I find it interesting that the article does not mention the woman’s name. Even though it is now a matter of public record and easily obtained.
The mother is one serious basket case to pimp out her own daughter. Having been involved at construction work at a women's correction center (aka prison), I have been told by people who should know that women who abuse children have a very difficult time in prison as the other inmates do not view such action in a positive light.
My heart goes out to the messed up 13 year old who initially agreed to be pimped out and then changed her mind. She will be lucky to lead any kind of decent life.
How truly sad.

My guess is that her name will not be released to the general public in order to protect the child.

The whole sexual revolution changed the way most people think about sex issues.
The kids in the ‘60s and ‘70s who got the revolution going had grown up in a time when sex outside marriage was considered wrong by most people.
Kids growing up today have grown up in a time in which it’s considered ok to have sex with any number, any gender, of partners. Once you break the moral barrier, remaning barriers become easier to break. The unthinkable thought of selling your own daughter for sex purposes becomes imaginable in a world in which there are no societal restrictions on any type of sex behavior.
And the idea that it’s okay for consenting adults to have any type of sex experience filtered down to adolescents and may soon filter down to children.
It’s a sad trend in society that stories such as this happen.
Interesting to note that in this case the mother’s boyfriend did the right thing.

My daughter will be 12 this summer.
The social conservatives had it right, as always, the social liberals are liars and deny reality.
The left is on a continuous assault on right and wrong and the social liberals have almost destroyed what all past generations (all of them) held as most important, that is morality and VIRTUE.
But the social liberal/fiscal conservative types take the left's side every time in their destructive march, then they blame the right for standing up and resisting the left.
That's exactly where we are right now--or where at least half of us are, and they are the half that the rest of us have to "tolerate" because, after all, who's to say what's right or wrong?
