In before the “You Suck Because You Like Perry” begins...
Podhoretz, like his fellow neocons, are always opportunitically ready to attach themselves to the perceived winner.
Not yet. He did not impress me last night. I will wait to make final judgment.
>> ......Hes right — it is a Ponzi scheme.
I sense there is now coming together not only a man who will tell the truth, but also a people who are ready — hungry, even — to *hear* the truth.
I’ll say this for Perry: he was the only one on that stage who actually has a job and actually has been working at it, rather than just running for president for the past months/years. Since he just came from the disasterous fires in his state, I’ll cut him some slack for seeming a bit distracted. Go ahead, anti-Perrys; bring it on.
Were there two different debates last night?
NEVER go on what Perry says, watch what he DOES.
I still don't see how a pro abortion, anti gun Northeast liberal like Romney has a chance. This is the Republican primary we're talking about here.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
Interesting.
I was more pessimistic than I am now, after reading this article.
Perhaps I was over-thinking the whole thing.
I definitely agree about Mitt. It doesn’t matter how “smooth” he is. His smoothness looks like what it is: car-salesman slick.
I was more worried (and remain worried) about the SS question. Why emphasize this now? What happened in 2005 when Bush tried to say the same thing?
I also agree with the article that Perry could have done better on climate change. “Where are your advisors???” I screamed at my streaming computer screen. They should have KNOWN that POS question was coming and Perry should have been READY.
Next time, I hope SOMEONE in the good state of Texas, who knows Perry personally, gets him to read up on the recent CERN study basically PROVING that AGW is a baldfaced lie.
Please, someone, please, tell Rick about that.
So far, I've read that Perry disappointed, shone like a star, ran away from Social Security and made Romney look like an apologist for FDR. All in all, I get the feeling it was a draw.
One thing I suspect is that the debate format may favor Romney more than it does Perry (I could be wrong). Romney is a boring speaker while Perry is very dynamic on the stump. If Perry concedes to those who think he must be calm and "presidential", he won't play to his strengths.
Gee, I hate that these debates have evolved into our main source of candidate information.
He told me what I want to hear on the domestic front. I still don’t know his foreign policy philosophy. Foreign policy is where Santorum loses me. Paul is way too far to the left, but enough of the wars to democratize the world where the American people get nothing out of it.
I'm reminded of a couple quotes from wise men of history...
"Some men run for office because they want to do something. Others run for office because they want to be something."
"Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others."
I have no interest in helping Mitt fill out his resume.
I wonder why the GOP thinks the only viable candidates are those coming out of TX or NH? It’s like any other Republican candidate doesn’t stand a chance in h_ll!
Perry’s not my first choice, but I’ll hold a soft spot in my heart for anybody who can rid the body politic of Romney.
We have two Governor Goodhairs. Perry and Romney. Just on looks and presentability they can beat Bammy by 10-15 points. Just comparing Moochelle & Bammy Boy to Mitt and his wife and Perry and his wife the Republicans come out way ahead. Don’t laugh, people vote based on what they see on TV with “the issues” being secondary. They will like the way Rick and Mitt come across on the boob tube much better than the mangy mopey Kenyan
