What about the opening weekend of the NFL? They don't have to get into the stadiums to cause mass casualties. Just target the fans lined up to get into the stadiums or all of the tailgaters. VB-IED's, satchel charges, hand grenades, and the ever present AK-47 would cause absolute havoc.

Because of the security restrictions, the fans who would normally be carrying would have to leave their own sidearms in their vehicles or at home, so the only people on the scene (other than the terrorists) who would be armed are the LEO's assigned to the stadiums for security, and I can guarantee that the terrorists would have a plan for dealing with them.

There are eight games that kick off at 1pm, so an attack at each stadium, even if they "only" inflict 400-500 casualties at each, would easily surpass the first 9-11 in terms of casualties.

IF they were to blow the Memphis I-40 Bridge they wouldn’t have to inflict casualties. The residents of Memphis would use this as an excuse to riot and loot and would destroy the city by themselves.

This administration has put this warning out as a credible threat to the general public and you have to wonder are they doing it just to cover their ass in case the unthinkable occurs? The DHS currently has a hiring freeze in place and clearly has no respect for law enforcement and has told us our greatest threat comes from home grown white men that likely belong to the tea party.

That would be an interesting idea for a book. Can you imagine the gangbangers launching street-level attacks on a patrol while being covered by NYPD snipers?

Hmm, I might have to use that. I'm working on a book dealing with the US being occupied by UN forces after suffering severe losses during a three-way nuclear exchange between the US, China, and Russia. My story was going to concentrate on the Midwest, Texas, and the Rockies, but I might have to add a New York/Northeast subplot.
