Republican wins Democratic New York House seat (World coming to an end?)
Washington Post ^ | 9/14/2011 | Paul Kane

Posted on 09/14/2011 12:16:05 AM PDT by JohnHuang2

With the outcome of his own reelection effort 14 difficult months away, President Obama suffered a sharp rebuke Tuesday when voters in New York elected a conservative Republican to represent a Democratic district that has not been in GOP hands since the 1920s.

Bob Turner, the winner, cast the election as a referendum on Obama’s stewardship of the economy and, in the state’s Ninth Congressional District, which has a large population of Orthodox Jewish voters, the president’s position on Israel.

Does this mean Scooter is going to double down on his “Save My Job” jobs plan? The most delicious part about all of this is that the Dems are stuck with this loser. Watch for the False Flag event, though. He doesn’t have much else, if anything, left in his tool bag.

Also sensing defeat, the media hysterically tried to write off a loss here for Democrats as just a special case -- a district in which Obama is as popular as gonorrhea. But. A Siena poll released last Friday pegged Obama's approval rate in the district at 43 percent, which is about where Gallup pegs him nationally.

Great post. Thanks.

Great News! Enjoy the NY-9 win while it lasts for the next 14 months. I’ve heard this district was going to be gerrymandered out because NY lost some House seats in the census.

Ahhhhhh..... Did the dems get their nuts handed to them again?

Nuts? I think you are being awfully generous. But whatever they had they have been cracked and thrown back in their face!

You forgot to say that you shouldn’t mention the fact that the Democrats pour hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of hate ads in the last days to try to hold on to the seat. We should try to be civil after all. ;O)

Yup. They can't primary him because the blacks et al would burn the place down.

The only hope they have of getting rid of him and keeping their hands clean is if he pulls a Lyndon B. and resigns or if they take him out the back door - perhaps by exploiting one of the brewing scandals (Solyndra, Gun Runner etc.)

Otherwise, as you point out, they're stuck with him.

I’m already on my first chu-hi to celebrate, and headed to roppongi to engage in capitalism with my business partners. Ronin and I are two more Tokyo happy campers today. Well done Mr. Turner.

Careful; those chu-hi’s creep up on ya, especially the green tea ones. And stay away from the Hoppy Beer. Those two don’t mix! O-dai-ji-ni (get well soon). Hope you don’t have to work tomorrow.

NY-9 looked pretty well gerrymandered already to me. They may just carve it up and throw Turner in with one of his Congressional "neighbors".

He’ll never pull an LBJ; his malignant narcissism won’t allow for it. The only way he’s going before his term is up is if a “medical” reason crops up between now and 06 November 2012. Solyndra and Operation Fast and Furious (among others, without getting into the unfortunately radioactive “birther” angle) won’t gain enough traction quickly enough to bring his pResidency down either, IMO. At least not in a manner that results in his leaving office before his term expires. More’s the pity.
