We give him plenty of credit for defiling the Oval Office.
(Politico) Bill Clinton thinks he deserves more credit for reforming welfare and balancing the budget.
I go crazy every time I read the conventional wisdom, he said Friday night at his presidential library in Little Rock, Ark. So part of the Republican narrative is that I was saved from myself by the election of the Republican Congress [in 1994] that forced me to do welfare reform and made the balanced budget possible.
Clinton said reporters and commentators keep saying this, overlooking all relevant facts.
The 42nd president said Arkansas had been a test case for reform during his governorship. At the federal level, he said 43 states received federal waivers to implement welfare reform before the GOP-controlled House passed the final bill.
And yet I kept reading how this was a Republican idea, just because President Reagan had a good story about a welfare queen and a Cadillac who didnt exist, Clinton said.
Don’t know if you’ve ever dealt with any white-dope users. Their minds go strange places when they’re high and usually don’t make it all the way back. I was in the Everglades with a guy that was on a pretty good binge. There was an alligator that always hauled out to bask on a certain spot, and he climbed over a low wall and touched the tip of its’ tail. It took off like a rocket. I got a couple of photos of him standing there. A few days later, he was telling someone about the alligator he wrestled in the Everglades and they called BS on him. When I walked in he starts going off on wanting to see the pictures I had of him wrasslin’ the gator. He really believed he’d done it.
Give him a trophy shaped like the Oval Office bathroom sink.
It’s all according to what the definition of credit is.
...this best clinton moment came when special prosecutor brought up the cigar bit....watching clintons eyes roll back in his head was priceless....*grins*
No, the people of AR and the people of the whole USA like and admire Clinton. They really seem to think he had a “good economy.”
Let’s just look at some of the riff-raf that are clinton alums, carville and begala and steffi, all impersonating journolists, eric holder, every criminals best friend, and don’t forget hillary, screwing the world up as fast as she can.
“More credit? I thought, you lying POS (US Treasury Website says you are liar), you had a surplus and didnt need anymore credit.”
At the 2000 Democrat nominating convention Bill gave a speech titled “To Renew America” where he takes credit for the work of the Republican Congress. “To Renew America” was the title of a 1996 Newt Gingrich book. Plagerist????
Credit????? The 90’s boomed in spite of Clinton, not because of him, as US productivity soared due to the Information Age expansion into the economy and everday life.......and was helped along by a fiscally responsible Republican Congress (Yeah I know, but “fiscally responsible” is a relative term among politicians.)
That is fantastic photo-whoring Zakeet. Too funny.
I plan to invite Clinton to my funeral. He cries so convincingly - at the drop of a hat.
Clinton is a true narcissistic incompetent pig of a man. And that’s about the best thing that can be said of him.
He and She, the two headed Clinton Monster, get credit for handing over our military secrets to the Chinese for a fistfull of illegal campaign contributions.
If the government and the media hadn’t covered up the Vince Foster murder, whitewashed the Waco slaughter, ignored the treasonous selling of secrets to the Chinese, and ignored the role of the ATF and others in the bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building this treasonous skirt chaser would still be in the federal pen.
Willie,
Do like Jimmah did and write a couple hundred books about how great you were as a President, how misunderstood you were, etc. Maybe that will help. Uh, but then again, maybe not.
I’m all for giving slick 100% of the credit for he and his cohorts having the information to prevent 9/11, but ignored it.
Yes, and he wasted that opportunity. The economy was booming, the US was the sole superpower. We could have ensured that we were feared AND loved by the world. But he blew it, completely
