Posted on 10/05/2011 3:17:46 PM PDT by TheBigB
Take it for what you will...posted on Mark's page just now: BREAKING: GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN TELLS MARK LEVIN SHE IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012.
I am a daily poster and I don’t have to like it. This does not constitute serious discussion when we act like small children and make fun of each other’s choices’ hair or clothes or accent.
There are ways of discussing without getting into the gutter.
Just sayin’.... :)
I’m disappointed but have to hard feelings for her decision. I still support her regardless of this decision. Rainy day supporters need get past it, put their big-boy pants on and support Herman Cain.
I was thinking the same thing, see :#385
There are a whole bunch of them , the running outfit on the I can win Newsweek cover, she said We when addressing the candidates on FBC recently, she was wearing an I am T-shirt at the Iowa State Fair, the 'Fire in her Belly' and her surprise participation in the Jump Right In and Run half-marathon in Iowa.
. I also read that Republicans moved up their primary because she is running and yesterday's inquiries into the deadlines was the big signs. They are all over the place .
I knew she wasn’t running for sure when it was said that the powerhouse Christie didn’t have enough time to prepare in 4 weeks;if he were to have run.The live interactive polls on Christie went off the charts. He is pro life and more Reagan like than anyone. He would have been a blunt Reagan LOL.He would have had the union vote like Reagan. He would have been crowned and there wasn’t enough time.I think Palin knew she wasn’t running months ago.She did an exploratory committee and listening tour without having to break her Fox News contract.
Worshiping a human—ANY human—is folly. All humans are imperfect, fallible and won’t always do what they should. That pesky free will.
Far too many people here put Palin up on a pedestal and thought she could walk on water and do no wrong.
Time to come back to reality.
hahahahahahahahahahahahah....not even close! Oh my gosh...what an idiot statement!
HEY, BUT HE HAS GREAT HAIR, AND I BET THE NY F&*^&^ING TIMES WILL ENDORSE HIM, JUST LIKE THEY DID JUAN MCSTAIN IN 2008. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Great, just f*&%^$ING great.
I now have to decide whether my previously intended campaign donation goes towards whiskey, ammo, or both.
It's time to put up or shut up. Post the proof that he was attacked in the way you say.
I hope she endorses him. Than I am praying he picks her as hi VP. Boy wouln’t that piss off the progressives on the left?
I’m reeling here. I can’t express how disappointed I am with this news.
I am still in shock... :)
Well it isn’t like he is going to do anything about global warming regardless of whether anyone agrees with the science. Aspects of the Huntsman energy policy will actually release significant amounts of greenhouse gases. So I don’t get why he is considered moderate or liberal, especially re: economics where this election will fall. But definitely preferable to Romney on every level !!
Supposedly there was also a letter sent out to close supporters today that read:
October 5, 2011
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office.
From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back and as Ive always said, one doesnt need a title to help do it.
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.
Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government.
For me, at this point then, it is...
She said that same thing in Iowa this summer so no surprise. She’s a believer in ‘Anybody but Obama’. See my tag.
She said she’d endorse whoever got the nod, including Romney. Big deal.
Send your thank you notes to Santorum and Bachmann
I dont know. Bachmann didnt do herself any favors.
You mean like the McGinnis obsessive vanity posts from you asking where Sarah Palin is???
Absolutely! Ponder this: Hillary could be a lot harder to beat than Soetoro Mugabe. To quote the Joker, What this town needs is an enema. For those with a bit of faith left over, a veto-proof senate and grass roots house would be a good fall back position. Remember 2010. Never give up!
If you are going to donate, donate to the candidate, not the party. The party is corrupt.
I’m very upset also, but then I thought of this:
“Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Anyone that got that ugly on Palin threads either had their comments removed or they were banned. But it continued mostly unabated on Perry threads and toward the people who are favorable toward Perry.
Just the other day I was accused of not acting Christian when I asked where we would get all that crow for the Palinista’s to eat.
Oh well, at least hunting season starts soon.
When it boils down to it, who isn't. I don't think I can last another year with this POS and the mess he created.
Not holding my nose anymore....Voting CAIN even if a write in...
Again - the people you are talking about represent a relatively small percentage of the voters. No major impact in the real world IMHO
How astute is a post that says Romney is sure to win, but he’ll never get my vote?
Don’t you suppose there are enough other conservative voters in this country who won’t vote for him either?
Have a little faith. Mitt’s never polled above 25%.
I like her, and hoped she would run. But now, after seeing this thread, I don't blame her one bit.
She called on people to be tough... "Mama Grizzlies". Too bad a lot of her supporters turned out to be baby weasels; the kind to flee the country, or complain that they bought her products, or whine that she is responsible for any problems the Nation will face in the future.
It turns out that some of her supporters have a lot in common with the Obama people. They have made her out to be a messiah, on whom all of their hopes and dreams were dependent.
Just wish her well, and get over it.
I’m with you 100%. This is really bad news. My opinion is that voting will not solve the mess we are in.
She represented the very slim chance we had for straightening things out without having to hit rock bottom.
I’ll vote for Cain. Knowing that things are probably going to get really nasty in the next few years.
But what do I know? I’m just a noob and here to learn.
She just became “Sarah who?”
When I said “Sarah is not running”, my unpolitical Son said “Are you kiding me? Who else have they got?”
Oh, my. ;-(
Sorry, and you are?
Remember that at an equivalent time in 07, Baraq Hussein Obama was unknown to over 90% of US voters.
That may have been the best thing for her. In any event, it’s too late now. We need to work with the hand we have.
time to bug out this country is dead
She did what she thought was right- it wasn’t about money, IMHO.
I’m dissappointed, but the struggle for this country ain’t over.
I was your Omaha O4P coordinator and spent the last few months (and many more before that as a general supporter) taking arrows, slings and all sorts of crap for you. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time.
In 2008, on election day holding a McCain/Palin sign, I was spat upon, accosted and threatened. I did it for you, not McCain.
I attened your speeches, drove long hours, and met lots of nice people. I bought your books and DVDs.
I thought you would of had to class to tell us months ago that you weren’t running and now I feel strung along.
You burned me.
So now, the MSM celebrates, the GOP elite celebrates, your detractors celebrate. Why? Becasue they won. They now have a proven method of taking out conservatives. All that’s left are the RINOS and the Statists. You just gave Obama four more years. Your main appeal was that had the potential to be POTUS. Now, you’re just another voice in the crowd who will fade into the night. The name Dan Quayle comes to mind.
So, in the manor of Pontious Pilot....I wash my hands of you.
If you’re thinking of 2016 or 2020 forget it. If for some reason, Cain wins the nod, you think you’ll be the Veep nominee. Kind of dout it.
Congrats Sarah, you’re no trivial pursuit question.
I guess half of Free Republic and 70% of Facebook just got what they wanted...4 more years of the Dumb Bastard.

Why? You supporting Romney? Or voting for Obama? It ain’t over yet, there are other candidates out there and if Palins supporters rally around them like they did Sarah, we don’t have to lose this one.
“There are several good choices available.”
No, there aren’t. None of the people who have tossed their hats into the ring are fit to be president, morally or intellectually. They are empty-suit politicians with no moral compasses whatsoever, except for Cain, and I suspect he is a closet racist.
America will not survive another four presidential terms.
I’m in with Cain too. I can’t see a viable alternative.
Don’t forget the last Greta interview she used the word ‘we’ and it did not say FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTER.So she is running.(It did the transcript was posted but the lie went on.Oh and the PERRY DISSED SARAH BECAUSE HE WAS JEALOUS (THERE WAS AN ENTIRE THREAD ON IT) crap at the governors convention was a total fabricated in sick minds lie.Palin stepped back from the podium-they looked rushed to get to a meeting and Perry was the head of the gov. committee so that is why he looked to be in charge.I tried to be kind when I told them the SarahPac call for donations looked like se was not running and was called the devil.Speaking of that also don’t forget only they get the Palin spirituality and God wants Palin and all who don’t agree don’t think she is a biblical Esther. It was beyond ridiculous it was cultish.
You should use this disclaimer with shaky,no basis in fact, statements such as yours...Romney a "shoo-in?"
Neither Romney,Perry nor Obama have a prayer as long as the Tea Party exists—and even though MY statement has real factual support I will still insert—IMHO.
>> “time to get behind a candidate, Palin lovers.” <<
There is no candidate.
Not one that can do what absolutely has to be done to salvage the country. Our problem is mostly elitist corruption, and all except Cain are very much a part of that corruption.
I wish Cain were different, not supporting the Fed, and business killing tax schemes, but he is who he is.
We are toast.
Apparently you missed the numerous threads where anyone who wasn’t wholly behind Gov. Palin was labeled, among other things: homosexual, PDSer, “concerned”, troll, RINO, DUer, RomneyBot, supporter of the Huckster, Democrat, liberal, etc.
This is a significant development at FR not only because many people have been waiting for Gov. Palin to announce her candidacy, but because a subset of those same FReepers were downright nasty to anyone who didn’t agree with them. Not only were they nasty, after they ganged up on fellow Freepers and drug them through the dirt, they’d then celebrate on the thread giving, as one FReeper put it, “high-fives”. For me, the whole Palin candidacy question has been a real eye opener. And not in a good way.
