I don't think his convictions run deep as he has demonstrated with all that flip flopping as of late. In addition, when he commented about the second amendment he noted that those matters should be left up to the states to regulate or legislate. And he comes across as weak in foreign affairs as well.

Cain has been backpedaling since before he announced his candidacy. Check the latest list of his recent flip flops:

He supported TARP and said: “Earth to taxpayers! Owning stocks in banks is not nationalization of the banking industry....Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem....The free market purists’ objection to this is that it smacks at government control of the banking industry, which is called nationalization. They are correct.”

Once it was proved that TARP was a disaster, Cain backpedaled and said that he didn't know they were going to pick winners and losers.

Asked about having Muslims in his cabinet, he replied that he would never have any Muslims in his cabinet if he were President. Last Friday when Jay Leno questioned him about his statement he backpedaled, remarking that he had originally meant jihadists, not ALL Muslims, and was speaking about terrorists and didn't qualify his statement.

Let’s not forget that Cain doesn’t like Catholics either:

Cain's communications director, Ellen Carmichael, stressed to CNN that Cain "believes that everyone in this country has the right to practice whatever religion they choose."

And she tried to re-characterize Cain's comments.

"Just as he would never appoint a Catholic who is loyal to the Pope before he or she is loyal to the Constitution, Mr. Cain would never appoint a Muslim who believes Sharia law trumps our U.S. Constitution," Carmichael said.

Cain called blacks brainwashed. When criticism of his comment started surfacing and when questioned about the remark by Chris Wallace on Sunday’s Fox News about it, he said: “Some black people that I run into, not all ....… they won’t even take my 9-9-9 brochure because I’m that conservative, that Republican.”

Just a few months ago, Cain didn’t think Al-Awlaki should be targeted by the armed forces, saying "He should be charged. And since he's an American citizen, he should be tried in our courts." When asked if he considered it legal for Obama to order al-Awlaki killed, Cain said, "In his case, no, because he's an American citizen." Now he agrees with Obama and praises him about the killing.

On Fox News Sunday, he was quick to support the gossip and malicious innuendo regarding Perry's recent media scandal without bothering to check the facts, and gratuitously called Perry 'insensitive' and implied that he was a racist. He observed that there "isn't a more vile, negative word than the N-word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, until before, I hear, they finally painted over it, is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country." And now he says: "All I said was the mere fact that that word was there was 'insensitive,'"

Lol, can this guy spin or what? At this rate he will surpass Mittens for the flip flopper award.

“Tell me why is Cain not going after Romney but only after Perry?”

Even Palin implied Perry had issues with crony capitalism.

I can. Like I said, I wasn’t surprised at all, and if the email is correct, then good for her for putting her family FIRST.

Now, how about helping us avoid getting Romney the nomination?

Free Republic is in all the way. If abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun-grabbing, socialist healthcare mandating, big government, constitution trampling, lying statist Mitt Romney somehow becomes the best the GOP has to offer, then it’s just proof that the GOP is no longer a conservative party and therefore I’m no longer a Republican.

I oppose Romney as much and maybe even more than I oppose Obama.

Because Romney will turn the GOP into just another progressive party. There will be no opposition party left.

If Romney’s the one, then FR will be in 100% anti-Romney mode. FUMR!!

Go TEA Party!!

Well, this certainly makes disbursements easier. Free Republic is the winner as Sarah was the embodiment of the ideals that have existed here for years. I'd have sent to her campaign what will now go to Fresno. Besides, Fresno is closer and I'll always have fond memories, of both.

Thanks Jim and thanks Sarah. We'll keep moving on. It ain't over yet. This fight is for keeps and America, and all those who sacrificed their lives to protect her. That's the majority, folks. That is the majority.

Well, that’s strike two for America, down to the last out in the bottom of the ninth.

I have never seen one post that said anything bad about his hair, it is his really bad policies and shoot himself in the foot big runaway mouth that were commented on. SP supporters are huge on border issues and right off the bat that eliminates Perry.

An overblown charge. As I said before Cain is working as an attack dog for Romney against Perry and Cain is working to be Romney VP. With time you will realize that this is the case and hopefully it would not be too late then.

Watch the coming debates and see that everyone on the stage except may for Gingrich would be ganging up on Perry who according to many is finished. It is strange that so many people are still obsessed with attacking Perry 24/7 despite that they are telling us that he is finished. Why is that? Well the answer to that is very obvious.

This again? Wow. You are truly obsessed McGinnis, especially since she isn't running.

But hey, why don't you tell me what's conservative about giving preferential treatment to illegals?

Why don't you tell me why its heartless to oppose giving state aid via tuition grants to illegals?

Why don't you tell me what's conservative about a knee jerk nanny state decision on mandatory vaccinations?

I'll answer for you... there is NOTHING conservative about any of those positions. But you keep lying to yourself. And I fully expect you to post a vanity asking 'why hasn't Palin endorsed Perry yet?'

I'll answer that one for you too... because he isn't a conservative.

Sadly, I suspect you are correct, however. For the last three years, FReepers could count on a new post on Palin every few hours, usually with comments running into the hundreds. After a brief flurry of monday-morning quarterbacking, I told-you-so's and if-only's, and the likely belated praising by by the Ann Coulters, Laura Ingrahamn, and David Frum types, letting on they always really loved her, and are glad she realized that her proper role is cheerleading on her betters, hopefully people with degrees from better schools, the posts will fade away to one a day, one a week, then nothing.

And she'll likely soon fade from Fox; Roger is said to have been tiring of her lately anyway. And, IMHO, we will have lost one of our brighter lights.

Perhaps that's what Sarah Palin wants. Lord knows I couldn't blame her. After the savaging she and her family took, with no one in the establishment GOP rising to her defense, I pray for peace and happiness for Palin and her family. But we've been diminished, and I for one will sorely miss her presence on the national stage. And if in November 2012, if the polling looks really good or really bad for the GOP nominee, I'll write her name in for President.

Naturally, if it's close, I'll cast my ballot for whatever also-ran the GOP puts up, knowing that all it'll acccomplish will be switching one set of cronies for another. I would have loved to vote for Sarah Palin; all I'm going to be able to do in 2012 is vote against Obama. Hopefully that will be enough.

Perry didn’t exactly have the greatest answers to the Pakistani nuke question.
We know about that letter that Perry signed in support of doing something about TARP.
Perry has quite a few issues with muslims that he will have to deal with.
Perry also played the race card during the debates in support of illegals. That’s a much bigger problem than something that was said on a Sunday morning talk show.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only sane one around here. But in any case, Cain won’t get that far.
