Cain Gets Major Applause At Debate After Dismissing Harassment Claim
Real Clear Politics ^ | 11/9/11

CAIN: Yes. BARTIROMO: You know that shareholders are reluctant to hire a CEO where there are character issues. Why should the American people hire a president if they feel there are character issues?

CAIN: The American people deserve better than someone being tried in the court of public opinion based on unfounded accusations. That's...

(APPLAUSE)

And I value my character and my integrity more than anything else. And for every -- one person that comes forward with a false accusation, there are probably -- there are thousands who would say none of that sort of activity ever came from Herman Cain.

You're right. This country's looking for leadership. And this is why a lot of people, despite what has happened over the last nine days, are still very enthusiastic behind my candidacy. Over the last nine days...

(APPLAUSE)

Over the last nine days, the voters have voted with their dollars, and they are saying they don't care about the character assassination. They care about leadership and getting this economy growing and all of the other problems we face.

(APPLAUSE)

...when I saw the blonde accuser, my only thoughts were that she was trash...

What I saw, simply enough, were her eyes. If eyes are the window to the soul, it is a nasty place in there.

The attacks on Mr. Cain are disgusting. It will backfire.

When I saw liberal Juan William's defending Mr. Cain the other day... I knew the attacks had already backfired. The absence of most of the usual hateful Perry supporters on these threads is another indicator. This has already gone way too far.

I can now see why the original attack was kept anonymous with nonspecific allegations... the identities of the women and the added detail has undermined any credibility that the charges originally had. Mr. Cain was still struggling with name recognition problems when the attack first surfaced. Now everyone who hasn't been living under a rock knows who he is and a lot of people are starting to understand what a bunch of BS this is. Given the herd mentality of the MSM media after Maria got booed last night I think that a lot of them might start running from the story.

Herman has been through the wringer fighting these bogus sexual harassment charges. That’s why I think he fell back on 9-9-9 more than a few times: he was simply worn out. I’d much rather see him go over the same points than have a Rick Perry moment!

To be fair, a president does need to be able to handle stressful situations, but you’ve got to remember that Cain is a newcomer to the political fray. Let’s see how he handles himself in the next debate.

I don’t think anyone expects Cain to turn into the next Newt Gingrich in terms of encyclopedic knowledge, but I do think he needs to come out swinging with some new material. If he does, I think his chances will be better than ever.

If not, he may find Newt closing in on him. Newt’s been making steady progress throughout the debates, and if you add ex-Perry supporters who value political experience in a candidate, it might give Newt the support he needs to overtake Romney in the next few weeks.

What gets me is I've had to go to court on cases for the criminally insane9 murderers and such) and others. it's hard enough to remember EXACTLY( at least in my mind what happened say a year or two years ago unless i ask the judge or the lawyer if I can refer to my written note sin the chart. That helps re fresh my memory immensley.

I know this is personal and I have the IQ of a little below a newt but fve years out was the worst and I couldn't even remember the victim not the accused names and had to refer to the whole chart and sat there and read, and re read until I aggravated the heck out of both defense and prosecution to which I asked them if they wanted a true and accurate deatils of the intel they'd please just have to be patient. Eventually it all worked out.

NOW as for a 12 PLUS year allegation where there are NO notes and robambly very little action( putting myself in Cains place as he probably doesn't chart as nurses do...at least no BP and other vital, utine output etc) well it would be next to impossible to make an accurate accesment of any woman he may or may not have seen nor interactions with women at that time. granted I am demeaning myIQ but still I haven't TOTAL RECALL not a photogenic( graphic) memory) and even if I had the defense could poke holes in such statements I ( or in this case cain gave)

That wrien I think this is total BS and yeah, I'm the elaborative " Captain Obvios of the day. I think it's obvious also Obama wants, needs a white dopey stooge( Romney??) Romney and not a counter part who has succeeded through the de segregation, succeeeded in school, succeeded in marriage, had no radicals as friend, succeeded in business and has solutiona albeit needs work other than a socialist commiie, PRO NAZI anti Israeli, pro Muslim B Hood anti Christian Jew ideology in which he's systematically destryoying the moral ethical and constiutional( one and the same) fabric of Americ. Who will you chose in 2012?

personally I'm going for a man who is shooting from the hip and NO ONE has found a scarpe of infidelity just as al them lawyers from Obamathugs had on palin but alas, can he stay the course? he needs support, out love, our enouragement and out prayers. Please pray for an honest election devoid of all the cr*p that is going on already. We really need the TEA party and other groups to fully mobilize for two reasons:

1) To show solidarity for all small business and anti OWS. Also to prove the groups once and for all are NOT the same, not similar in any part or parcial and that we the peole are still fighting a battle in which Obama and otherss and ..well i already said it, trying to "fundamentaly change America and the world( His words during his campaign).

To show republicans. Indpendents, Libertariatns etc and all who make up th TEA party( salt of the earth) we has now prejudices again and form and siege around the siege in a polite manner around these commie/nazi, socialist, union anti-Jew, anti house N***--( NOT my words!) no good bums

First, I want to also say GO CAIN! I support him.

Secondly, I'm definitely not into any kind of voodoo or hocus pocus or number crap but did anyone else notice he said "nine" three times in the last part of that? Just thought it was kind of interesting lol...no idea what it is about him and the three nines thing lol :)

Cain’s deft response to that witch’s question last night was the best I’ve seen him handle this issue yet. He made his point about the accusations being false, then turned it back to the audience with good messaging about how the country appreciatates and needs good leadership.

Well done, Mr. Cain... but still.. get rid of Block before he gaffes again.

The only flaw he had was when he called Nancy Pelosi a princess. He got a couple of boos for that.

Considering how truly loathsome Pelosi is, I wonder who booed? It might have been some Paulbots or Romneybots.

i dont think so, it’s the exact opposite. i can judge a character quite well. if we go by body languages,

I hate to burst your Cain Bashing bubble, but......

Investigator: Herman Cain innocent of sexual advances

"The software analyzes the stress level and other factors in your voice. During the speech, when Cain denied the claims, the lie detector read "low risk." According to Ward, that means Cain is telling the truth. "

"During the analysis of that section the software said "high risk statement." Ward said that means she is not telling the truth about what happened. "

"Ward said nearly 70 law enforcement agencies nationwide use the voice software, including the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
Ward said the technology is a scientific measure that law enforcement use as a tool to tell when someone is lying and that it has a 95 percent success rate.
After listening to Cain's speech and analyzing it, Ward said there is no doubt, Cain is innocent. "

indpndtguy, Here's something to ponder. Sharon Bialek in her statement clearly said that when she and Cain went to dinner that Cain then asked her, "Why are you here?"

Do you really think that is even logical? That they would talk on the phone, arrange a meeting, she'd travel to DC, yet never once discuss that the meeting is for a job? They arrange a meeting and never discuss why? Bialek is a fraud from start to finish.

I think the whole field is terrible. Right now, I guess I have to go with Newt. Like many I’m looking for the anti-Romney, but if it comes down to Cain & Romney, I have to take Romney.

Huntsman even looks good to me right now and that’s saying something.

What TICKS me off most about all this are the NAACP and other blacks and their whine groups. If this were a dimocrat black man undergoing all this, there would be riots in the streets defending him. These two faced hypocrites need to just never come out and whine again. They are selective about who they want to protect or back. They are nothing but a ATM punch ticket for the socialist dimocrats for free stuff. They make me sick. The NEXT time a black person whines about anything, my FIRST response is going to be WHAT ABOUT HERMAN CAIN? WHY didn't you people come out against the news media for crucifying him?

More Bimbos! Throw more bimbos into the boilers!

They didn't design this for the general public. They designed this specifically for the Republican base.

The left thinks we're racist, nothing short of the KKK. They believed if they made us think a big black guy was attacking poor, innocent little white woman (especially blonds, the 'ol black on blond stereotype), we'd immediately be demanding his head. No way would we let this vulgar assault go unpunished!
(It would also prove what kind of racists we 'really' are!!!)

They were wrong. We're not the racists. They are - for even trying to pull this stunt.

I'm going to give you the same advice I gave all the Perry supporters in Sept.

don't race around here trash talking the other candidates with emotion based personal attacks. NO one is magically going to migrate to your candidate of choice because you trash talked the other candidates.

Make a case FOR your candidate instead. GOP voters respond to issues, not personal attacks. One of the reasons Perry imploded was his campaign though your sort of trash talk political attacks was the way to campaign.

Conservatives are use to seeing these sort of attacks from the Left. We are naturally suspicious when we see people supposedly on our side using the same tactics

after the presser, i think john king interviewed a cain’s friend on cnn, and he said his wife/family was not even there at the presser. one could ponder why that is. contrast that to clinton+hillary together trying their best to b.s. the people when they actually knew bill did it, i.e. the 60 minutes interview in 1992(?)

Now that right there shows how little merit your thoughts have. Every politician in trouble trots out the family/wife to make a good picture. Cain didn't do that. If anything, that indicates there's nothing there.

I’m really concerned with Iranian aggression and their nuclear weapons program. I really would like to get a good idea how a President Cain would deal with Iran.

Me too. I like what I've seen of Herman so far. He reminds me of a black Ronald Reagan. I'm concerned about his inexperience in foreign policy. I believe he'll surround himself with excellent people, much like Reagan, but I'd like to hear some specifics in international relations.
