"I'd hate to be in a muddy foxhole with you under withering fire. You'd complain about my dirty fingernails."

Well said! Some people are really shallow-minded. They have no idea what is at stake in this election.

Who won the FL straw poll? Cain.

Who gave the Tea Party State of the Union response? Cain.

At this point, Newt needs all the help he can get to mobilize voters for him in FL.

Sorry. I’m for Newt also, but some people are acting like zealots.

Flooding a guy with requests to drop out?

Please.

I hope your daughter gets better and, by the way, drop out for the good of the country.

Santorum is a decent man. I don’t like him but he has a lot of loyal supporters. He should make the decision about whether to drop out or not.

I was very offended when I saw that post and I tried to be respectful as possible when saying so.

And why insult me? Don’t let your passion overcome all boundaries of civilized behavior.

Reminds me of how Col. West said the word "hell" in his speech this evening and then told the audience that, yes, he had said "hell."

Sometimes direct communication is called for.

Amen! He’ll heal our land. And, yes, that’s part of walking with Newt and helping him - prayer.

No one knows better than I do how many supporters Cain had and how over the top they were.

My candidate was the beneficiary of a lot of Cain inspired hate.

So, no I don’t like him and I won’t say I do. But if his endorsement actually helps Newt, then good.

I didn’t like the Cain thing either. The guy left in disgrace and has nothing to offer imo. However Go Newt Go !

I just think Cain is so damaged that Newt would be better served to stay away from him. Don’t let him come around anymore.

Newt delivered a terrific speech and solidified the run he is prepared to make in the fall - I'm excited!!!!!!!

I've been concerned the whole week that Romney and his establishment backers would be able to successfully knife Gingrich. But I realized tonight that Newt is going to win.

Newt's going to win because he understands what makes Americans tick. And he has this understanding only in the way that a historian versed in America's past, present and future can understand Americans.

What Newt understands is that Americans want, more than anything, for America to be great. And what Gingrich does better than any politician since Ronald Reagan is speak the language of American greatness. Romney in contrast can't even pronounce the words that make up this language, let alone understand what those words mean.

This week the whole pundit and political class belittled Newt's moon proposals. Even Limbaugh jumped on that bandwagon - something which shocked me when I heard it. But what they've apparently forgotten is that Neil Armstrong stepping on the Moon was one of the things that made America great. And now -- it's time to be great again.

That's why Gingrich will win, the Democrats will lose and America will renew itself and lead the way, as it should, into the last frontier.

Yep, well, he might be Newt’s VP.

That I would not doubt.

I just think Cain is so damaged that Newt would be better served to stay away from him. Don’t let him come around anymore. Newt needs to distance himself from a guy that can only hurt him. A lot of people don’t like Cain, men and women. The guy just didn’t run around with women but was accused of wrong doing. Newt does not need that.

Hey, they are just South West of Paradise. I’ll bet they have told you of the times they were on edge because of fires. In the town of Paradise, like Chico they almost worship the damn trees.

Are they conservatives like you? Maybe you should let them know that I have a blog with the Chico Enterprise record. I am the most conservative blogger in this leftists enclave.

As I recall, Newt and herman were friends from days in Georgia politics...and radio programs...I admire Newt for standing by his friend...but I still say Herman Cain is a publicity whore.

Ah, okay, I can see your reasoning, and I appreciate the reply.

Out of that, the thought that Cain would reason that Newt is ‘the one’ is encouraging, and I’ve got to say, I haven’t been this ‘encouraged’ since 1980.

I remember the gas lines, the ‘malaise’ and the economic failure that was the Carter administration. Deja vu.

We’re onto something here, and with the grace of God, we will endure. I don’t think Cain’s endorsement hurt Gingrich, I am confident that Col. West’s did help.

If we can convince enough that this may be our final wake up call as a self governing republic, and hence, gain the support of the majority of caring American citizens, with God’s help, we will once again find our way.

I have children and grandchildren to whom I owe a better future, from a history for which I accept responsibility as their forbear, than the one they currently face.

I pray it has not been in vain.

He probably is a PB whore. It just made me feel a little uneasy with Cain. 100% behind Newt.

No more letters or email folks...It time for prayers for this family.

I agree, let's drop the push for him to drop out for now. Our messages will work best on his conscience if we send our concerns to God anyway.

Of course I would not not mingle in the prayer with the one for his daughter and family though. God knows our hearts, and He knows what our supplications are before we even bend down to pray.

I think, in part, that this is what helped him win Rick Perry’s endorsement

It was Perry's own doing. He's not supporting Newt on conditions. He's simply a Patriot and conservative so it's about our country, not him. He'll forever be known as a Patriot.

Cain was most likely Mitt’s first real victim and most of his supporters understand that. When all the candidates are standing with Newt while all the establishment is with Mitt makes a dramatic point.

Pray for Newt
