A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Sunday night of likely Republican voters in the state of Florida shows a significant surge for Newt Gingrich.
The poll has Mitt Romney leading with 36 percent of voters, followed by Gingrich at 31 percent.
The Sunday results of 646 likely GOP voters are as follows: Romney 36 percent Gingrich 31 percent Santorum 12 percent Paul 12 percent Other/Undecided 9 percent "The race will be tighter than expected," Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax.
Towery noted that his poll showed a surge for Romney on Wednesday, with him leading Gingrich by 8 points. The InsiderAdvantage poll was among the first to show Romney's resurgence after his dismal showing in the S. Carolina primary.
The InsiderAdvantage poll was also the first to show Gingrich's rise in S. Carolina and accurately forecast his win there.
"The trend is favoring Gingrich," Towery said, noting that while Romney's lead was still outside the margin of error of 3.8 percent, "It's not by much.".........

Yep! Romney has no interest in rebuilding a free America. This is about his “destiny” and his religion’s distorted view of the world. And the Democrats will play it up for all it’s worth if he gets the nomination.
What really disappoints me is how many conservative Christians are supporting Romney. Either they don’t know their Scriptures well or they are being deceived by all that flash and cash!

We’re all convinced that Santorum would endorse Gingrich if he dropped out, but I’d be very surprised if he did. His anti-Gingrich attack ads in Iowa were pretty vicious, IIRC, and I think he is actually angling for VP with Romney (he won’t get it, but he’s sure going to try).

The key is Florida is the first WINNER TAKE ALL state so far. Since Santorum absolutely cannot win the state with where his poll numbers are at now, voting for him is a completely wasted vote. Only the #1 winner gets any delegates. A vote for Santorum in Florida is a vote to give Mitt Romney 50 delegates and everyone else 0. Give that vote to Newt instead and it might be enough to push him over the top and have him get the 50 delegates. This is the only way to vote if your order of preference is Santorum-Newt-Romney. If you like Romney better than Newt, then you’re fine voting either for Santorum or Romney.
I know I noticed in some polling a while back that people in their 30s like myself were more conservative than people in their 20s or 40s. I think it’s because we grew up in the ‘80s under Reagan. People growing up more in the ‘70s and ‘90s probably suffered through more negative spin on Republicans. I remember hearing a few bad things about Reagan growing up, but nothing ever stuck. To me he seemed like a model President, and I never understood why anyone would view him negatively.

There aren’t many politicians that inspire me in any way. Newt is one of the few, based primarily on me watching him on FOX for the last 8 years or so. He seems less like the stiff, workmanlike politician and more like a dynamic, passionate cheerleader for his cause.

Not sure if it is a ‘job’ if a Republican wins, or if it is just his ego-centric pesonality, but he may be the ulimate spoiler herein!?
This is such baloney. Gingrich has always been in the lead in Florida. This “last second surge” crap is just the pollsters getting their numbers in line with reality so they can look accurate on election day. Prior to today, the polls were nothing more than voter manipulation.

Praise God all right. Everyone should be getting down on their knees and praying that God causes Newt to win Florida.
The 5 lowest ratios were:(1)Michigan- 1.76
(2) Florida- 1.85
(3)Arizona (A red state)- 2.9
(4 & 5)Alaska (red again) and New Hampshire- 3.0
The 5 highest ratios were:
(1) Wyoming- 9.7
(2 & 3)South and North Dakota 9.3 each
(4)Montana- 8.7
(5) Nebraska- 7.0
All the high ratios seemed to be small red states. All in all, it didn't seem to make sense at all.
The bonus delegates is where it will get any correlation screwed up I think. The basic allocation starts with at-large [basically 10 per state, district [3 per CD] and Party Leaders [3 per state]. These are fairly standard across the board. The bonus delegates are awarded based upon Presidential vote, Governor party, US House & Senate, and state chambers. A mess to say the least.

When I said ”We stronger conservatives believe in personal responsibility.” it was BECAUSE too many Newt supporters are blaming Santorum because Newt is behind in the polls in Florida, NOT BECAUSE OF Newt’s personal life. I also think Newt has changed since then, and I DO NOT hold it against him.
It’s NEWT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO DO BETTER IN FLORIDA, NOT SANTORUM’S. Anyway, a recent poll said that even if Santorum did drop out, Romney would still win in FL. Florida voters are stupid, but Florida is not the only state, and maybe there will even be an upset there.
While I’m supporting Santorum, I’d rather see Newt win than Romney, in any contest, but I think Santorum will do way better after the liberal Florida contest is over.

I don’t have anything against Mormons - it’s Romney the person that I don’t like.
FL isn’t the only state in the union, so whatever happens keep supporting Newt, and I’ll keep supporting Santorum.
In fact, it might be a badge of honor for conservatives to lose in the LIBERAL Florida. Romney won in NH, another liberal state, but thankfully, not all of the states are liberal.
Plus, I’m not so sure that Romney will take Florida, as polls have been very wrong in the past.
