Atlanta, GA – Pastors and faith leaders from throughout Georgia — including from more than a dozen churches — announced Monday they are personally endorsing Newt Gingrich in Tuesday’s Republican primary and joining his Faith Leaders Coalition.

The pastors include Dr. Richard Lee, pastor of First Redeemer in Cumming, Dr. Michael Youssef, an Atlanta Christian author and broadcaster, and the Rev. Benny Tate of Rock Springs Methodist in Milner, Ga.

Lee, Youssef and Tate are national co-chairs of Gingrich’s Faith Leaders Coalition. They will be working with the new Georgia faith leaders on Gingrich’s advisory coalition.

“Our nation sorely needs a President who not only says he believes in God but takes faith with him to the Oval Office every day,” said Dr. Lee. “Newt Gingrich is that man. And he will be the type of President to protect our right to worship without Washington interference. Religious freedom is what makes America exceptional, and Newt will make sure that freedom remains secure.

He dropped out so I put him in President Santorum’s Cabinet along with his pal, Newt.. See my tag.

Thank God, Herman did not endorse Romney like he did in ‘08.

What a relief!

Perhaps Newt will consider Santorum for his cabinet.

My sis in law just told me tonight, she and my brother have switched from Santorum to NEWT.

They had been considering Santorum, just based on christian beliefs only, not substance. Then they decided that NEWT was the BEST to get things done.

I had a Praise the LORD moment at that time. She also may be convincing some of their friends to do the same.

Jan. 2012-What little amount of time that you have been here, it’s mostly been bashing Newt. Maybe a supporter of another candidate.

Santorum is one of those politicians that Newt brought into office and Lordy, he is one of the guys who worked behind the scenes to take the speaker down. High morality and character value there. Yeah, baby..

I hope my feeling about NEWT winning tomorrow in Okla. come true. I wish they had made that decision a while back, and would be in a position to change some minds in their church. Those people look up to my brother, he could have done some good for NEWT.

Newt will be fine in Georgia (it’d be nice if he got to 50%). I would have liked to see Herman and J.C. in Tennessee and Oklahoma earlier. Newt was surging, but will it be enough?

Santorum is a lot more left than we all know.

I didn’t know that he campaigned for Whitman and for Specter for President.

“Governor Whitman and I agree on 90 to 95 percent of the issues,” Santorum said at a Republican rally in Hopewell. “And when I find someone I agree with on 90 to 95 percent of the issues, I enthusiastically campaign for them because they’re heading this country in the right direction.” Whitman, who was appointed director of the Environmental Protection agency by President George W. Bush, has lately been leading an effort to create a new party and began urging former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman to run as a third-party candidate even before Huntsman dropped out of the hunt for the Republican nomination. “

I don't know, but I do have a positive feeling about NEWT in Ok., can't explain it.

Had a very negative robocall from Santorum about 2 days ago, bad mouthing on a lot of Newts past.

Today, was different from Santorum. Except now he is mimicking NEWT about ENERGY. Went on for a long while, you would think that RICK had an original thought and he was the first to speak about that issue. What a jerk.

Rick your such a phony plagarist.

For the many years I’ve been on Free Republic, many of you have espoused the less than desirable virtues that you now accuse me of - self-righteousness, un-Christian thinking, etc.

One of you even went as far as to act like a grade schooler by running to the Admin Moderator and Jim Robinson as if to say “Teacher, Teacher! MplsSteve said something bad about Newt!” Seriously?! Grow up, OK?.

Asking for forgiveness is one thing. I’ve asked for it a number of times in my life. But I’ve learned from the very things that led me to ask for forgiveness. Newt has not. I will flat out suggest that a number of you are hypocrites and less than consistent in your values.

Go ahead. Flame away.

MplsSteve is very likely stuck in a very unhappy marriage. Normally those who are so bitter and obsessed with the adultery of others are in that situation.

I feel sorry for him. His postings were pathetic.

“I think Newt’s key to winning this is Tenn, Ala, Miss. If he can win 2 or maybe get a Sweep. Santorum will fold due to lack of resources.”

It’s awful that so many people are fooled into thinking Santorum is such a conservative and don’t realize his legislative record that says otherwise.

Newt’s in the tough position of being told he has to stay positive and not attack his competitors. Frustrating to all those of us who KNOW he’s the only hope of real change for our country and the only one who won’t wilt under the powerful BHO propaganda machine.
