I've been here a year or two.
The demands of the fundraisers have gone up and up.
While I have no dispute of Jim's numbers as up front, they have gone governmental.
Look closely at the budget. Decide for yourself.

Impossible. I don’t want to have to do that on my own. Somebody PLEASE decide for me. [biting nails feverishly] I just don’t know what to do. Can the government help?
If I can donate,which I did last time,anyone can donate.
I would assume Freepers on a budget,as I am,are well aware that you can give up spending on something to give to something else.
That’s what I learned early on-—I was a Depression baby whose father died very young.Going without was routine for many years.

The positives could really outweigh the negatives (such as my personal pissing/moaning about how this place so stoneage much of the time).
Anyhow......I just logged in to find the FReepathon thread so I can do my quarterly - such as it is, in this Obama economy, so off I go wandering!
If you/we went that route . . .
personally,
I’d want you to insure that the new set-up would be
LESS STRESS for you, for John
and then for the rest of us.
Otherwise . . . the cost might be too high per benefit.
I DO THINK it COULD be set up decreasing the stress . . . there are likely folks you could trust to take some of that stress off of you in such a situation—freeing you for the nicer aspects of your life.
That might make it worth it . . . in addition to decreasing concerns, anxieties & sheer hassles etc. every quarter.
