Prosecutor Plans Announcement as George Zimmerman's Legal Team Calls It Quits

A special prosecutor promised "new information regarding the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation" within 72 hours, prompting speculation that the alleged shooter, George Zimmerman, could be charged soon.

The announcement that the prosecutor, State Attorney Angela Corey, would soon hold a news conference came just hours after Zimmerman's lawyers said they would no longer represent him.

Corey said Monday that she will not present the case to a grand jury; she retains the power to decide herself whether to press charges against Zimmerman in the shooting.

Zimmerman's lawyers Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig said today they were withdrawing from the case because they had lost contact with Zimmerman, who is refusing to answer their calls, texts and emails.

"We're not taking the position that we're leaving him," said one of the lawyers...

This is the first I've seen that his lawyers have quit.

Now what? Almost sounds like he's flipped.

Lawyers said he had dropped out of contact.
Gone further underground or perhaps left the country.

“The two lawyers said they were concerned about Zimmerman, who they described as isolated.

“He can’t go out to a 7/11 to buy a Diet Coke. There’s a bounty out there,” Uhrig said.

The lawyer suggested that Zimmerman was probably suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. “

*************
Smashed head, concussion, then the bounty, who would stick around? He should be contacting the lawyers, though, but is the man thinking right? Where is Zimmerman’s family who keep talking to reporters? If they can talk to a reporter, they can contact a lawyer.

Tin foil hattish of me, I know, but I wonder if they were threatened off the case. One of Zimmerman’s friends was interviewed last night, and said the “out of communication” business was bogus.

Or possibly shot by some beret wearing NBPP member and dragged in for his bounty.

“Almost sounds like he’s flipped.”

Imagine the pressure...I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up a suicide.

A special prosecutor promised "new information regarding the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation" within 72 hours, prompting speculation that the alleged shooter, George Zimmerman, could be charged soon.

If she were going to prosecute him, she wouldn't wait 72 hours.

She's going to announce that she has declined to prosecute at 5 PM on a Friday, the traditional time for dumping controversial news that you want to die down over the weekend.

I'm sure the "prosecutor" is going to announce that he is arresting the black panthers that put up the bounty....

I feel bad for GZ.

Whoever broke the law first is wrong.

Seems like jumping someone and smashing his head to the ground was the first.

quit

Those two shysters should be forced to produce a copy of a signed agreement since they admit they've never actually met Zimmerman.

If i were he i would be somewhat unstable by this point. He’s been villified beyond belief. He has a bounty on his head. He understands, and this has not been mentioned to my knowledge, that his family too may be in danger from those who wish him harm.

Read some speculation on another site (so take it with a grain of salt). That since George Zimmerman's father is Jewish, George may have fled to Israel. Supposedly, Israel won't extradite citizens or individuals that can document a Jewish heritage, though they will still try them in an Israeli courts and force them to serve foreign sentences in Israeli jails for the crimes committed in other countries.

I read somewhere yesterday Zimmerman contacted a close friend and spoke to him for about 30 minutes. He described Zimmerman's demeanor as sane and reasonable...not at all unstable.

Something’s going on. He's acting like a guy with a lynch mob after him, and wants to just get the hell outta town.

If she announces she is not moving forward, expect Rodney King X 10 in some places like Detroit, South Central LA, Chicago, DC, South Dallas, etc.

I am going to call my wife and warn her to be ready and be extra careful.

I suggest we conduct a show trial on television and then let the populace vote, thumbs up or thumbs down, and if the mob demands his execution it should be done publicly, preferably by guillotine with Zimmerman's head caught in a basket and displayed on a pike.

If the ratings for the show are good, we can repeat these performances so long as the viewership holds. Maybe Donald Trump could moderate.

I don’t know the details (obviously) of Zimmerman’s mental state, but it seems like he is panicking just as the big heat is going to come down from Uncle Sam.

The political show-trial and pressure from the Feds, as well as an even increased media-circus will soon be upon him, and sounds like Zimmerman is under mental duress and giving away the few advantages he has.

Losing one’s legal team, trying to handle one’s own PR, and disappearing (assuming all this is true) is not how one fights the all-mighty power of the Feds.

Problem is, 5:00 on a Friday is riot starting time.

Announcement should be 10:30 on a Wednesday to give cool off time before the weekend.

I kinda thought they were threatened too. I believe they are working pro bono (For free).
He (Zimmerman) has to be a basket case from all the race baiters flapping their gums and the new/same old lousy panthers.
