EDITORIAL: The Civil War of 2016: U.S. military officers are told to plan to fight Americans
The Washington Times ^ | August 8, 2012 | Editorial

Posted on 08/08/2012 4:50:24 PM PDT by EveningStar

Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.

At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled “Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A ‘Vision’ of the Future.”

the Constitution allows the president broad leeway in times of insurrection."

Or looked at another way, "...an out-of-control President can claim Constitutional authority for trying to shut down the citizens who are trying to restore Constitutional rule and limit him to his Constitutional boundaries."

I personally think the majority of the troops are with the people but that doesn’t mean you can’t gather the right ones together for a unit of blind followers or revenge seekers.

Draw a line intersecting the immediate reaction by the MSM to the Gabby Giffords/Tucson shooting, then Colorado/ABC/Brian Ross, and now this serious and semi-official calculated provocation by a well-known scholar-officer in a respected establishment war journal ... carefully reviewed and passed along before being released. Where does that line project?

What ever happened to wargaming scenarios against Orangeland and Pineland, designed to cause no political blowback from any quarter? Clearly, this is a calculated insult and poke in the eye to name the Evil White Racist / Tea Party Militia as the National Villain. This is just a stunning change in scenario-writing traditions to name and call out an ethnic and regional group as National Villain. This is getting close to the German Nazis naming the dirty jewish vermin as national villain.

There has never been an arrest of a tea party person at any TEA (”taxed enough already”) Party gathering, consisting mostly of older Americans who want a smaller government. Now, these flag-waving geriatrics are recast as “enemies of the state,” deserving to be crushed by the Federal Leviathan. This is dangerous territory. This is Josef Goebbels territory by ABCNNBCBS, “American Pravda,” our MSM, and now by the Small Wars Journel, tied at the hip to the war college at Fort Leavenworth, where our future generals learn the trade.

I can only conclude that the liberal elite powers-that-be (both govt and media wings) have an epic hard-on for “evil white racist Tea Party militia terrorists.” Even if they must conjure them from insane Neo Nazis like the maniac in Wisconsin. (For those who don’t know, Nazi stands for National SOCIALIST. The other side of the Socialist coin is Communisim. They only vary in their enemies and victims, chosen by race or by class.)

And now a respected COL, US Army (ret) is whipping up the hate-on for the imaginary EWR/TPM. (Evil White Racist / Tea Pary Militia.) Paging Josef Goebbels. Or is the guilty culprit in this disgusting demi-drama the Colonel’s female sidekick, the “Civil War expert?” Is she trying to light the fuse to the next Fort Sumter, so that she can write the first history of CW2? Already have the prologue written, dear? Disgust does not begin to convey what I feel for this “academic,” busy tossing matches into the dry straw of the next mega-Waco.

I can only hope that the COL (ret) is a drunk, or suffers dementia, and somehow allowed the lady to hijack his half-byline. But the danger remains that he is fully cognizant of the meaning of the words put out under his name, and agrees whith them. And on up the editorial board which approved this abortion for dissemination.

We cannot ignore this trend. We have had our warnings. The leaders of the liberal elite establishment (gangster government and cooperating media branches) are chomping at the bit to unleash hell on their mortal enemies, the Bitter Clinger Nation.

And if it doesn’t happen naturally, they might give it some “help.” (See Fast & Furious, where the Obama regime already crossed the deliberate mass-murder-for-political-gain Rubicon, and the MSM is part of the coverup.)

(I just posted this on the Washington Times comment thread. Hit it up for a like, and it will float to the top, if you care to “agree” in a visible way.)

"The Army cannot disappoint the American people, especially in such a moment."

So...kill them?

Fantasy stories like this are nursed somewhere deep in political circles. It's their Final Solution to power.

Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion.

Imagine leftist Democrats using control of both houses of Congress together with a leftist President and a leftist majority on the Supreme Court to impose their will on Americans and the Army standing around with their thumbs up their butts saying, "Just tell us where to shoot, Mr. President."

The US military has experience in fighting (modern) insurgency for over a decade. Any uprising in the US will be violently crushed. Any uprising with a hint of “southern” will have very little (public) support in the North and West, while tea party uprising will have broader support. Regardless, I just do not see a well oiled military machine can be brought to knees by weekend warriors who are probably over 50 and not in good physical shape (notwithstanding sound fiscal sense).

The problem right here will arise when Constitutional Government effectively gets between the Treasury, the Federal Credit Card, and the Left. And eventually it will.

To the Left, this very action will be characterized as “insurrection”....or a “civil rights violation”...or “oppression”..and it WILL ignite the next Civil War....which will be fought over the RIGHT to continue to enslave the productive and their offspring through Constitutional circumvention, to the illusions/delusions of Progressivism/Leftism.

It will happen in our lifetimes. That’s what this piece is about.

You heard it here first....

GMTA ... my first thought was to post that link in reply.

Our Founding Fathers had a great and health fear of a standing army. It appears those fears were well-founded.

And while the military is busy doing a show of force, the nice old lady in the neighborhood shows up at a local party appartchik meeting featuring "prominent speakers",serves up a "special" dinner, then disappears.
Or as the tanks move into town, the road suddenly explodes with metal rods that pierce the undersides of vehicles, filling them with shrapnel. The explosive residue shows that the propellant is home made.
Truck and rail traffic slow or stop into the power centers (cities) of those who have a "thing" against the bitter clingers, resulting in massive riots and looting. As troops are called in to quell the unrest, supply lines for those subduing the resistance in the hinterland grow thin.

Two can play this game.

If the trend continues, by 2016 the military will be largely populated by balkanized enclaves of ‘victim groups’ more intent on ‘getting back at their oppressors’ than on defending their country....

Nicely said.

All of the class warfare and pandering to victim groups we have been witnessing is not without a purpose and goal.

Hmm, let’s see, there has never been, at any time, when the tea party caused any trouble. Meanwhile in the liberal side of it all, there are the OWS, causing all kinds of mayhem in every part of the country. Just look at what they did in Portland? Yet, whenever there is talk of “INSURRECTIONS”, these Washington flea brains are preparing a war against the TEA PARTY. That’s ludicrous. But, I’m willing to bet, that if there are any kinds of “INSURRECTIONS”, the tea party will get the blame. And the OWS groups, they will be exonorated.

My cousin’s son is in the National Guard. He says some of them are *very* concerned they could be ordered to fire on their fellow citizens.........uh, key word being *some*.

Anyone that says something can’t happen simply because it hasn’t happened before is living in a fool’s paradise.

Just food for thought folks.

My son is in the Army, I can guarentee you that he stands with “the people” as per the Constitution as per his oath. I’ll have to ask him what he thinks the majority of his brother soldiers would do, though.

The problem with the military is the O-6 and above Command Structure. Not with the troops. These are all, ALL politicians. And yes, these days, that goes for my beloved Marine Corps, also. An Omar Bradley, A Lewis B. Puller, A Creighton Abrams....they no longer exist.

I have no love for officers. The only ones worth a cold bottle of piss are Warrants and Mustangs (prior Enlisted). Canoe U. grads are as worthless as Harvard grads.

If this type scenario ever came about, I know where I’d be.
