President Obama regards the week of the Republican convention as precious time to campaign, his spokeswoman told reporters to explain why he will not lay low that week, as is customary for incumbent presidents.
We know that this is a close election and we need to compete for every vote that we can compete for, Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Air Force One today. And thats one of the reasons the President will be spending some time on the campaign trail the week of the Republican convention.
Psaki was responding to a reporter who had noted that Traditionally, Presidents kind of stay low during the oppositions conventions and asked, Is he trying to steal some thunder next week with his own campaign trips?
She denied that his anticipated campaigning is an attempt to steal Romneys thunder. We know that there will certainly be a lot of attention paid to the Republican convention just like there will be to the Democratic convention the week we have it, Psaki said. But were not going to give up any precious time or precious time with voters when we have it.

He may have advertisements but he would never try to take the attention away from the Dems. Have your fun and vote for the Commie.
Vote for the Commie ???
Which one...
There are 2 this year...
are you a OBot or a RomneyBot...
I cant keep you guys separate in these threads...
You all sound the same...
Which Commie are you voting for ???
We have plenty of time for big rallies, a campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said between the rallies on Thursday. Our focus right now is on exciting our supporters and winning over undecided voters and the smaller and medium-size events are the best venue to accomplish that because the president can closely engage with the crowd. ...And Obama campaign operatives, both at the Chicago headquarters and in swing states where Mr. Obama recently has stumped, say the campaign intentionally limits crowds by restricting tickets. The reason is to allow the president to better connect with supporters, aides say.

Speaking of classless individuals — I only have to read about five words of your typical RDS vomitus before I know it’s you. Don’t even have to check the by-line.
Who cares???? Those who want to attend the convention will and those who want to see obama’s bus tour will. Simple as that. It won’t have a dent... you can bet on that.
>> Geeez...got your panties in twist, do ya?!@?
Usually — and biblically — one can tell a Christian by their love.
Nana is not like that — no love shining outwards, just bitter darkness. Therefore, she needs a tagline to inform you she’s a Christian.
>> Listen to me. i live in Maine, in Washington county. The sunrise county. We see the sun first. There are no friggin jobs because of obama. There are no jobs!
But napscoordinator has a job — don’t you, nappy? Why don’t you tell FRiend mirkwood who signs YOUR paycheck.
That should help clarify why exactly you’re working so hard for Obama, eh nappy?
Of the 9 under 27 from my home and married to them Obama has zero. You’re negativity is tiresome and you either live in a bubble or you intentionally misrepresent what you see.
It’s obvious Obama has your vote whether you hand it to him or waste it on a write in.
Meanwhile in reality: Obama Campaign: Were Purposely Limiting Attendance
But he will sacrifice and lose precious hours vacationing at a Martha’s Vineyard estate?
Alas, the Obamas are foregoing their vacation on Martha’s Vineyard this year. Things have to be worse (from his perspective) than we think.
How long has it been since the Lightworker filled a building or some woman has swooned at his appearance?
Zer0’s middle name is “class”...minus the “cl-”.
Breaking an old tradition. Big deal from their standpoint... anything to win they say.
That just means Romney and Ryan will be free to do the same to him during their convention.
He wants to play Chicago ball, we can do it right back at him.
I really think we are watching the 'unsinkable' SS Obama heading straight in the the iceberg.
These guys are really getting desperate and I am seeing a Republican landslide in November === a damn big landslide.
Just my gut feel.
If you are so sure of Obama winning, then you will not mind taking me up on the open challenge I have on FR that Romney will win this race going away. $1000 bet that Romney wins. Interested in putting your money where your key board is?
And I’m not even voting for either the Mormon or the Muslim, but I still KNOW he will win BIG!
Kid Im not sure of anything...
I am pretty sure that Paul Ryan would have won if he was top-of-the-ticket with another Conservative or even a moderate because as soon as he had won the primary the base would have all made up and got behind him...
Paul Ryan I would vote for...
the contrast between Consewrvative Paul Ryan and Liberal Obama would have been glaringly obvious...
Right now we have blurry lines for both our current candidates...
By now the momentum going into the convention which would have had a ground swell weeks before he had picked his VP would have been fairly evident that he was headed on a surfers wave to victory in Nov...
Obama would have been left coughing his dust..
However hes not the candidate...
so we are back to an even playing field...
2 Godless liberals...
Romney does not have the smooth sailing that Paul Ryan would have had...
Romney might win...
Obama might win...
Its a long way to Nov still and Romney is not exactly the ideal candidate...
anything could happen...
Feel free to jump up and down and gloat...
Im not going to gamble with you...
I wont spend a penny on Willard...
BTW Willard likes $10,000 bets ...he might join you...
Listen to you???? Oh please....you go and help destroy America with Romney. I work at the Naval Academy and very proud of it. Had ZERO to do with Obama but you sure can think so if you’d like...doesn’t matter to me a bit. Why don’t you get some conservative values....you might end up a nicer person.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2920264/posts
If you had a percent of conservative in you, you would vote for this patriot. But we all know you love the Romney the liberal. God forbid you vote for a conservative. You haven’t before so why start.
>> I work at the Naval Academy and very proud of it.
Yep, timmy geithner signs your checks. No wonder you’re so snotty and obnoxious to all those who would use their votes effectively to throw him and his marxist boss out! Follow the money.
“Obamas got got 60% of the young people... many who turned 18 since 2008.....”
“....Willard is not popular.....”
“...Obama ... hasnt needed big crowds at rallies...he wasnt running against anyone...after the convention he can start spending money and then he might have bigger crowds...Willard is not getting big crowds on his own...
******************************************************************
You REALLY do need to get out into the real world more often and develop a better and less insular understanding of what’s going on. Obama has already sunk below 60% in polling of young people and continues falling.
And the winds (and they are gale force) are blowing more and more away from Obama and his minions. They are blowing in the direction of strong support for the Romney/Ryan ticket and support for conservative Republicans running for the US House and Senate. The outlook for substantially more conservative Republicans in the Senate is particularly bright.
As far as the size of crowds turning out for Romney (they are LARGE and he’s traveling alone) and the implication that Obama is not experiencing large crowds until he “start(s) spending money” “after the convention”? You REALLY, REALLY do need to get up on current events.
Have a better day.
