And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
That’s it and we would go to the one on Washington Street in Mission Hills!
Looks very similar, unless most of them have that basic banded look.
All I know is that I LOVE Schilo’s rootbeer and I don’t even normally like root beer. LOL! Maybe it’s so nice and cold in those frosted mugs on a hot day of walking in San Antonio. :)
Thanks for the update on the Mrs. I have been keeping her in my prayers.
Hopefully she will be able to tag along with you next year.
A Glock? Misfire or jam? I’m sorry, but I don’t understand...
And I bet you made a great hall monitor in school, too!
And...AND...it needs to be a t-shirt too! That would have just been perfect! (Don’t ask me how to or where to buy...I just love the design he created!)
This is the typical mood after one of these high speed vaca's.
There is a cure...attend the next gathering.
In the meanwhile, anticipation will have to substitute...
Howdy, BB! LBH!!
How are you this evening? Do you have more pictures to post? :)
Ooooh! If Gunner does a new graphic each year, those t-shirts will be very collectible**. Great idea, LUV!
**I’ll buy every one of them.
There were so many shutterbugs with us that I never took a single pic myself! LOL
I noticed! So...do you have any more of pen’s pictures to post? :) I KNOW she took bunches and bunches!
Eaker looks on, remaining aware of firing line discipline.
I would, too! We had t-shirts for some of the earlier shoots, and I love wearing them. I just didn’t pack one this time ‘round.
NYT did, though. :)
I will probably never miss another one if at all possible!!
Okey-doke. Now I’m wondering who took the ones of us ladies with JimRob. hmmmm.......
I wanted to see it again! :)
Btw...my source on places to stay in the hill country next June was no help at all. They stay at hotels. We can do better than that I would think. Today was kinda crazy but I will try to keep looking tomorrow.
